Aldi and Lidl are going head-to-head with their huge Wooden Toy Events on Thursday 8th October 2026! So I've been through both collections to show you what’s coming, how the prices compare and which toys I think are worth looking out for.
From wooden play kitchens and doll's houses to supermarkets, trains, balance bikes and some brilliant smaller gifts, there is a LOT coming to stores this Thursday.
After the queues, sell-outs and reselling we saw around previous wooden toy events, I also wanted to look at what Aldi and Lidl are doing this year and help you decide whether it's actually worth making the trip.

Let me know in the comments, are you heading to Aldi or Lidl on Thursday? And what are you hoping to get?
I really hope there's plenty of stock this year and that everyone who genuinely wants one of these toys for their children, grandchildren or someone special manages to get what they're looking for.

I’ve popped links in the description box to both digital catalogues so you can have a proper detailed look through everything before you go. I’ve also added the official Aldi information about purchase limits on selected items in this year’s wooden toy drop.
Let me know what you’ve got your eye on, and whether there’s anything you’d actually get up early and queue for!
