Shoutout to Amir ❤ That was such a sweet story. I bet so many kids looked forward to seeing him in the summertime. I’m going to toss a sour patch watermelon in the freezer in his honour 😂

Flintstones was definitely an adult cartoon for the time. No swearing but adult themed every week.

All milkshakes are smoothies. Not all smoothies are milkshakes.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn some ice cream truck operator sees this and shows up at the Mythical studios to give Josh and Nicole the real deals.

In my day (and I am far older than you guys) the "bomb pop" was a rocket pop. It was all about the space race.

The Flintstones was the first animated sitcom ever broadcast in Prime Time. It was definitely made for adults and children and was considered an homage to The Honeymooners. Oh... and Betty Rubble was indeed a smoke show.

Come on, Nicole! "Ben & Jerry-mandering" was right there!

I remember the 'bomb pops' being called 'rocket pops. The best after that were the eskimo pies, strawberry shortcake bars, and drumsticks. Originally they just served us scooped ice cream, the eskimo pies were just an extra treat. (60s)

For future ref to the crew, if you can’t find an ice cream truck you can always hit up a gas station to find almost the identical offerings.

They usually have the Spider-Man and SpongeBob and Minions with the gumballs. They also have the correct strawberry shortcake bars and the push pops!!

I grew up in east New Jersey with classic ice cream trucks and vendors in paper hats. When I moved out to northern California in high school, seeing a broken down mini-van with ice creams being sold out of coolers and the brands written on the door with sharpie marker... made me really miss New Jersey.

If nothing else I can at least agree that Wilma and Betty were way, way too good for Fred and Barney lol

They were talking about ice cream trucks from horror movies. Our local ice cream truck took that idea and ran. They named the business "I Scream 4 Ice Cream" and painted the truck with cartoonish zombies. Later they expanded with at least one more truck and added "I Scream for Wings" which served hot wings along with the ice cream. Growing up in rural places, ice cream trucks were only occasionally running over the years. All of them were privately owned with people running them as a side business, but since the market was small and the distances pretty large, almost none really found it worth the fuel costs. With food truck culture on the rise, I think it made ice cream trucks make a come back.

Great white shark lemon flavored popsicle for all of my bothers (3) and myself. Simple flavor and perfect on a warm late summer afternoon.

1. As a 21st Century parent I made sure the minute I heard the ice cream truck in my neighborhood for the first time, I grabbed my money and grabbed my son and made sure we didn't miss the truck. He chose Spiderman. They take credit cards now! 😮
2. I refuse to believe I'm old because I watched the Flintstones!😊
3. When I asked my students what their favorite food to eat in the summer was the top two answers were...Bomb pops and watermelon. They could have chosen anything and Bomb pops were chosen repeatedly. I loved those as a kid. To some degree thankfully and weirdly, some things never change.😂❤

Convinced of the good humor strawberry shortcake ice cream conspiracy that the ice cream trucks are getting the real ones. Out of all the stores in my area, walmart is the only one where the good humor bars taste like they did from the ice cream truck.

When the WWF ice cream hit with Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man Randy Savage, etc.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Edit: The artificial strawberry flavor is closer to how Japanese strawberries taste. I did a double take the first time I ate strawberries in Japan.
Gendering the ice cream is crazy work lol In NYC we had the soft serve ice cream trucks and these with the packaged ones. My faves for the packaged ones were the choco taco, the chocolate eclair, or if I was feeling a little adventurous, the strawberry shortcake or the sundae cone. I didn't view the sherbets and ice pops as actual dessert.
