Río Grande is known as "The Granary of the Nation" due to its historical importance in bean production, being one of the main producers and distributors of this legume in Mexico. According to the 2020 INEGI Census, the city has more than 35,000 inhabitants, while its municipality has over 64,000.
On the other hand, Aguascalientes is one of the most important cities in the Bajío region of Mexico, standing out for its economic growth, its history, and its cultural significance, as well as being part of the historic Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (Royal Road of the Interior), declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
