Helen may say she’s not academically intelligent but she’s definitely emotionally intelligent and self- reflective. She’s done right breaking the cycle of abuse for her own child, anyone who can do that deserves applause

Watched this 4 years down the line so no idea what Helen is doing now but just wanted to say what a cracking interview and what a great girl. So honest and bright as a button. I hope all is good with her 😊

I like Helen even more after watching this. Her accent is brilliant

She's doing a great job of not wanting publicity. Writing a book, going on Big Brother then getting an agent.

James I only discovered your channel a few days ago and now I am hooked!!! I've now watched several interviews and just want to say well done on your interview process. 👏
This interview in particular touched me. Such a brave girl, despite everything else x

James is brilliant! Absolutely in love with his way to do interviews! She is great woman. Strong girl!

She might have done what she did in the past, but everyone has a past good, bad,or ugly. Least she keeps it real, and don't make no bs excuses.

Here from Sam Walkers page LOL 😆

I never comment on anything. But wanted to express my admiration for Helen.  👍

My mom hated me & my twin brother was her world 🌎💔 Sadly my twin brother died when we were 35 because of all the shit growing up. He is at piece now 🦋💫🤍

Another interesting Podcast James a guest like Helen will always divide opinion, but i enjoyed listening to her story and again is a testament to you for your variety of guests.
Well done mate keep up the good work.

I had no idea who Helen was before watching this and living in Canada I'm under a rock.     I feel for her and her life and I'm sure Wayne has had dozens of Helens...   good on you Helen for turning it around.  All the best to you and your son.

What a brilliant pod cost 👏 she's such an amazing girl

Love her accent. She's fit too!

'Problem was he spent the whole night, trying to explain Zonal Marking and why it always works and why you SHOULD ALWAYS split up a winning team and make at least 6 changes between league games. You could tell he was an embryonic Manager and tactical genius even then'.

Going to listen to this later James just before bed. Love all your podcast and interviewing skills as you are a great listener and in the moment with a person and ask good questions. If only more people had your quality interview skills!
Thanks mate for sharing. God Bless 🙌

I always enjoy listening to people's life stories and what paths they have taken  good one James 👍

She wasn’t my cup of tea at first ,,,,,but she’s kinda grown on me ! Ile defo shoplift her book next time I’m in a book shop ! Another great interview! Good luck Helen x

Brilliant interview. Very raw ans open. Well done Helen x

I was a class clown too, plus I was always told that I wasn't academically bright, I'd been told that time after time, offset against my brother who was the brains of the family, and he knew it, and was celebrated throughout our childhoods. I ended up on heroin for many years from age 16, then got 'so0ber' to drugs, and ended up an alcoholic, but I have my 4 kids and I'm sober now. I also find it incredibly hard to concentrate, but at the age of 33 I did a degree in Engls8ih, and ended up getting a higher 2nd, so you can do it, we get told who and what we are growing up by our family, but you can break those mental chains.  You get into that mindset when you're told what you are and are not capable of.  I think this lady IS intelligent, and I loved this episode, she's great and down to earth, and funny.
