Four sisters—Masoumeh, Yalda, Nazanin, and Mohaddeseh—live together with their brother, Salman, following the passing of their parents. Their cousin, Halimeh, is also Salman’s fiancée. However, after disappearing for two months, Salman suddenly returns home with a woman named Zahra, announcing that he has married her. Zahra’s arrival disrupts the family's peace and plunges the lives of the four sisters and Halimeh into a series of bitter ordeals.

Meanwhile, Nazanin, who has fallen in love with Mehdi, meets him in secret; however, Zahra discovers the relationship and obtains evidence she can use to pressure Nazanin. Refusing to yield to Zahra’s demands, Nazanin decides to see Mehdi again. Halimeh learns of this plan and informs Masoumeh. The two wait for the couple in the street, and upon spotting them, Masoumeh angrily confronts Nazanin. Mehdi, who loves Nazanin, steps in to defend her, refusing to let her come to any further harm.
