🤫We just released the V1 Prototypes: https://skillrboxing.com/

Proud to say I’m a Shakur fan. As far as defense goes, there’s no one else I’d rather imitate. I box bc I love the rush. Not bc I want cte

Shakurs style is so crisp and sharp. I understand how people find it boring but when you’ve trained, sparred or even fought in the sport of boxing. Shakur is an absolute joy to watch. Great video !

Granted, he's had some controversial fights. But in terms of technique, intelligence, and skill. He's beyond superb in all three.

Stevenson is a generational talent. Plain and simple.  I have seen this young man stand in the pocket and not get hit at all and people call him boring.

I’m glad you showed flaws. Because people always say he doesn’t have power, I think he has plenty of power to get people respect and keep them off of him. He Just likes to be defensively sound. My favorite boxer out right now

Fun Fact: Statistically Shakur Stevenson is actually the LEAST hit of all current active boxers, averaging an "opponent connect percentage" of less than 34% of all his fights, which is actually incredible!! People hate on his style but you cannot deny his defensive brilliance, the guy just doesn't get hit! I've never even seen Shakur with as much of any bruises on his face!

Finally a video where I don’t have to see spams if Shakur hate comments.

This style seems really good to study for people who do stuff outside of boxing like kickboxing, mma etc

Shakur gets hate because he doesn’t beat up his opponents he outclassed them and gives them a lesson in fundamentals boring to some masterful to others

so glad very few casual fans/fight fans on the comment section

Another skill is great body work, Shakur touches the body up very well

The background music matches Shakur's style so well. It's smooth and elusive.

Building my boxing IQ....
Great content to analyse & gain core defense fundamentals...
Appreciate it 🦾😋👊🏼💣💥🥴

“Hello Skillr Fans”
“Hello Skillr Boxers”
Music to My Ears ❤

Amazing video, I love commentary beyond the “all he does is run” rhetoric

Guy gets hate, but his fight iq is brilliant, and he'll be the one laughing when he retires without brain damage and a bag

Definitely I think shakur learned a ton from some of the best of all time early early on in his career between Andre ward and Terence Crawford. His extremely active lead hand is similar to Andre, and how he uses his feet is a lot like Crawford. He’ll use his lead hand to threaten probe, and very key, interrupt* what his opponent is trying to do. That’s something Andre ward was very good at as well, using his lead hand to interrupt his opponent.

Shakur also uses his lead hand not just to block vision or stifle his opponent, it’s about when* he does it. He will use his lead hand to control his opponent in order to get in position to attack, he usually does it when he crosses from one side of the opponent to the other, usually from being lined up closer to his opponents right shoulder, toward being closer to his opponents right shoulder, sometimes getting lead foot dominance as well, but usually also moving his feet. This blocking motion prevents him from being attacked when he is otherwise at his most cvulnerable, when he’s getting in position to punch. Then once he had his feet in a somewhat new position, his head in a different head slot, his body and general position at a now more favorable angle where he cannot be hit by nearly as many punches his opponent could throw, then he attacks.

Like Crawford shakur is also very smart about where and when he positions his feet, sometimes opting to step slower and just more carefully than rapidly, tho he can step quickly as well. The young man’s footwork is insane.

The biggest secret is another he learned from Andre ward, ward had a saying “there’s three things in this sport that are key to leave with: money- financially successful, legacy - what you leave behind, and your health” it’s that last one shakur has picked up on. Andre also talks about this in some of his interviews and in the face off with Carl froch, “in the school of boxing I come from, it’s not a compliment to say someone has a good chin….We don’t pride ourselves on taking shots we shouldn’t be getting hit with”.

So many fighters take punishment to the head especially over the course of their career, and you can see it slow them down mentally, their ring IQ is not as fast, their reflexes not as sharp, their choice of tactic not as wise or more risky, as their career progresses. Every punch to the head is lost brain cells that don’t grow back. Closed trauma encephalopathy is a silent but deadly thing. But because shakur has dedicated himself to taking as little punishment as possible, he has maintained his extremely high IQ, young man looks just as sharp mentally as when he first started, which is to say, incredible. That’s one of the most admirable things about him IMO as well, that he doesn’t care if it’s flashy or pretty, he knows real recognize real, as the late George Foreman once said ”boxing is like jazz, the better it is the less people appreciate it”. Well, I happen to be a fan of good jazz, and shakur too.

One of the things that I think is truly really impressive about him is his mastery of angles, it’s funny and it’s true I think, that his eyes are underrated, so I’m glad you brought that up. His ability to see a punch and figure out what it is so quickly is insane. It’s also that, combined with good reflexes, and his phenomenal positioning that create what he says in the rest of that quote, that he’s “prepared to always avoid punches at any time, no matter where they come from”, that fact is partly because he positions himself so precisely and so well as to be able to make himself getting hit as difficult as possible

Shukur is just Great.  He is what Boxing is all about .

People hate on him so much but he's fighting style is what I'd kill to have.
