In my line of work I met Chrissy twice. She was briefed on who the crew was for the Divinyls gigs so knew me by name although we hadn't met yet. That alone left an impression on me but she was also charming, considerate, polite and very accommodating to my needs and others around us. The second time we met, she came bolting up to me from behind, yelled my name and hugged me! It was over 2 years between meetings and she remembered me... We chatted before and after the shows and I have never met a woman quite like her. It was like my life changed after each meeting. I bawled my eyes out when she died.

I worked for the Divinyls. She was very caring towards me. We were all having a Japanese dinner one night and I accidentally had too much wasabi and she saw the look on my face and rushed to me with water. I still can’t believe she has passed. 😢

A very bright woman - and so many people never gave her credit for it.
Such a gentle soul, in total contrast to her musical and stage persona.
But, she was also impenetrable.  A relentless tornado.  Chrissy OWNED the stage, and every song she ever performed.
Australia's reigning female powerhouse of rock.
So many of my best childhood and teen memories...
She will NEVER be emulated.

I cant believe that this interview was nearly 20 years ago.

Chrissy was always real and intense, even in interviews. It was amazing to hear her talk about alcoholism and being a million dollars in debt, both of which she turned around through her own personal strength. I love that her mother, Mary, and her cousin, Patricia Amphlett (Little Pattie) were present  and are so supportive and proud of her. I saw Divinyls many times and was always blown away by the intensity of their performances. I always thought that the secret to Chrissy was that she lived every song, becoming the character that her songs were about. I don't know another rock singer who did that as well as her. She was confronting and edgy but at the heart of it all, there was an artful intelligence. And over it all was her amazing voice which she could twist and bend like no one else. Intense and powerful performer, certainly one of the best frontpersons ever.

Chrissy, best female rock artist of all time. She'll always be my favorite with no other coming close. Thanks to every divinyl's from this corner of south america.

Chrissy is a legend, trailblazer. Andrew Denton -  if only we had interviewers of his calibre on tv today.

Chrissy, your legend will never die RIP Beautiful.

Chrissy was a wonderful performer and she was taken way too early, sorely missed I loved her work and thank the interwebs for making it possible to view her work, making her immemorial, rest in peace Chrissy I miss you enormously.

I don't know what it is about chrissy, but i get choked up everytime i watch her perform.

We have lost many great musicians in recent years, but it is Chrissy that makes me cry.

That last performance blew my mind..what an absolute goddess..

We lost a great talent  when Chrissie died. I've always been so incredibly amazed at how alike her and Patricia were.

She really is fascinating to listen to.

Australia's Rock Queen.

I was terrified of her when I saw her on Countdown. I realise how brave and original she was - out there in the beer barns as one of the only female lead singers at the time beating the boys at their own game. Trail blazer

She was a volcano and a little girl at the same time, truly one in a million... Wish she was still here with us!!!

RIP Chrissy....one of the greats

A couple of good mates had the good fortune to get seated with Chrissy at an industry night, they spoke so highly of her and how cool and genuine she was. Class act👌

Chrissy is, SO REAL! I love this interview. With her Mum and Cousin. Chrissy and the Divinyls will live forever together in history.
