Some years later Vincent Price said this was the most fun he ever had in his life doing a performance

It only occurred to me about halfway through that Kermit can't actually read any of the papers on the desk, so whenever he's looking down at the desk to check his notes, that's actually just another subtle detail in the performance. Damn, Jim Henson really was good.

I was 20 years old and was given tickets to this show.   AND it was me and my identical Twins birthday…Watched in awe the entire production and was so great.    Its a great lifetime memory

When Fozzie thinks the jokes are bad, you're in trouble.

For a gimmick, Kermit was actually a good host, far better than Jimmy Fallon and more adult.

I love the awkwardness with Kermit and his guests. It added a realness to Kermit being new to talking to guests, despite doing that on The Muppet Show.
Worked wonders for my Quarantine Blues!

The guards didn’t wanna let them out of Disneyland.  Sounds like foreshadowing.

When I see kermit I don't see a puppet but a old friend

When a hand puppet from 1979 can beat out any talk show host of 2021.

Jim Henson and Frank Oz had a lifelong friendship. They used their friendship on their shows on Sesame Street, the Muppet Show, and all of the movies they created together. That was brotherly love

"Louder and funnier!"
"I'm doing my best out here!"
"You're dying!'" ROFLMAO!

The cool thing is, Ed and the guests are just sitting there talking to Kermit, interacting with him. Eventually, you forget he's talking to a Muppet. This is what made "The Muppet Christmas Carol" so good. Michael Caine bought completely into their world, not the other way around.

R.I.P Jim Henson.

I miss Jim sooo much. Even tho the muppets continue on.... You could really feel the heart he had behind all these amazing puppets. He really made this world a better place and his ideas are timeless. Smile on.

The set was built up a couple of feet so that Jim Henson could sit down below the desk.

I would still watch a Kermit talk show.

“Just one person” gives me chills every time. Especially after seeing Jim’s memorial after he passed

They should have given the show to Kermit after Johnny retired hahahahahaha

The guests on the show are weirdly perfect for Kermit to interview. Vincent Price was and Bernadette Peters is both sort of over the top personalities with senses of humor.

Hearing the audience’s reactions to the Muppet Movie clip is priceless.
