"Sorry bro I just wanted to win" is some high level self awareness LOL

As someone who primarily plays Yugioh and Riftbound on the side, being able to talk to a judge privately sounds wild.

Sounds like the judge didn’t understand exactly how the Heron worked.

Im glad the rules changed to no more takesy backsy. That was so dumb.

Well played and good job not crashing out

Was not expecting that ending. Fair unfair play to him!

good thing there’s rule changes in radiance about the whole takeback thing, in radiance this discussion wouldn’t have happened and the misplay would just stand

MOUSE-ER, its a cat that kills mice, a mauser is a German ww2 gun

I get wanting to rewind the Unchecked Power given that it's a reasonable misunderstanding or miscommunication, but I do recall reading some ruling that states that you cannot undo actions once additional information has been revealed, so rewinding the entire combat seems ridiculous given you've shown intentions to play Switcheroo and Abandon at all. It doesn't necessarily matter that they knew your hand before, even after Scuttle Crab dies and reveals your hand, your hand is still considered "private" and when you play cards, even if your opponent knows you have them, you advance the gamestate by revealing additional information and intention. But then again, crazy that judges aren't aware of how some meta-defining cards like Heron work.

The Boots top-deck is the cherry on top here, beautiful resolution to this nonsensical conflict.

This game is just a bunch of jokes in every aspect —wording, judges, balance, pictures, competition, players(not everyone), promotion. EVERY SINGLE ASPECT

Could be wrong but the the question about Heron discounting the 3rd card played could've been about the hypothetical scenario when you could involving Tide Turner and Heron WYP triggers, with you deciding how to order them and allowing you to discount the 3rd card you would play instead of the 2nd one. Not sure if that would've made a difference in this case regardless but a scenario like that exists. Would've mattered a whole lot more if you had something like a Kharox with a hidden Tornado Warrior but it is what it is.

That or I'm looking too much into it.

I've checked your opponent. That was a guy from the TCR team. I had one of them trying to shark me in barcelona too, be extra careful when you are playing one of them, guys🙃

I know exactly which judge you’re talking about. I also had a call that was handled incredibly poorly by them. Overall the judge quality at the event was very bad 😊

just fyi. a tad more efficient play wouldve been to tide turner the scuttle crab then cast switcherroo for free on the scuttle. It wouldve allowed for a bit more flex on your hand with oyur runes but that imo. this takesy backsy is ridiculous im glad they getting rid of it. gj on LA <3.

I mean, the guy HAD plays, but he didn't play them and misplayed instead.  How does any judge even consider reversing that far?  Hell, reversing the unchecked power is unreasonable.

I understand riftbound isnt easy, heck, im still not sure about some gear/pass focus/ pass prio interactions but damn, Atral Heron effect is pretty damn simple to understand.

Where does this background music comes from? It sounds so familiar but I can never quite put my finger on it

Riven is already an issue 😵‍💫
