We very nearly attended the same Jon Anderson and Steve Hackett shows, but I ended up seeing the latter in Ipswich rather than Cambridge! (At the same theatre my Dad saw Roy Orbison and the Beatles in 1963, incidentally)

As you said, excellent all around. Watcher of the Skies, Firth of Fifth and Supper's Ready in particular had all the dynamics of the original recordings present.

I really quite enjoyed the first set as well. I forgot how good Every Day and Spectral Mornings are. Shadow of the Hierophant was so loud towards the end that the roof could have caved in!

Brilliant evening. I'll definitely see Hackett again if I have the occasion to do so.

Steve is like a fine wine. He simply gets better with age.

Hackett is a legend!

It’s worth going to see Steve Hackett for just Suppers Ready & Firth of Fifth. When he plays Suppers Ready, I’m 20 years old again hearing it for the first time at collage

Nice review Barry. I've seen Mr Hackett many time over the years. Always excellent.

I’ve seen Steve Hackett several times over the last ten years or so. Never fails to impress.

Couldn't agree more. Seen Steve Hackett live since the 1980's. Never disappoints and for me, someone not old enough to have seen him in the early '70's it is great to see that material played note perfect. His band is superb and as you comment Nad Sylvan adds that Gabriel dimension. Off to see him in Liverpool in a couple of weeks with my son. Great VLOG as always!

He has rightfully inherited the soul of this band. But then again, I don't think any of the other four wanted it.

Saw him recently. He's bloody amazing!

I first saw Steve live in 79 on the 'Spectral Morning' tour and have seen him about 6x's over the years, the oddest but amazing one was when he played at The Wedgewood Rooms in Southsea nr.Portsmouth in 1993, (ticket price £6:50) its a small venue and holds 400 standing and 280, we were all seated, and chairs and tables were provided and it was quite amazing to be about 30-40ft from Steve, and the stage was very low as well. Quite memorable, as all his gigs are. Digressing, guitarist, keyboards, and vocals Amanda Lehmann is the sister of Steve's wife Jo.

He comes through my area a lot and I rarely miss him. Always a great show

I saw Steve and his band back in 2022 NYC Town Hall. This was the tribute to Genesis Foxtrot album, absolutely incredible! All talented musicians, and I’m not surprised to hear that the newly joined members are incredible as well. The best show that I’ve seen ever.

I always go to see Steve when he's in York and its always a great show. I'd love to see more solo material played

Anyone else love these shows? What has been your best ever Hackett gig? https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLhvuz2QFm5M

Remember GTR with the two Steve's (Howe and Hackett). I saw the only tour that GTR did back in 1986.

I sat front row (stage left) for his very last show before covid shut down everything in 2020 , & he was brilliant then.

Going to see Steve later this month in Glasgow the night after Justin Hayward in Dunfermline and absolutely cannot wait. Having already saw Jon Anderson (Glasgow) and Marillion (Edinburgh) last week - both shows absolutely fantastic, this has definitely been a purple patch for music. Your review has definitely whet my appetite for a great evening of fantastic music. Thanks so much for your review. 💌💌💌💌💌💌

Brilliant show last night!

I'm guessing the show was recorded? I hope so. Would love to see that performance. All of it, but particularly Ace of Wands which has always sparked my ears.
