A350 pilots out there, do you have visibility out the windows to check clearance from the wingtips?

AirCanada: "We felt a sudden shudder. Is everything OK back there?"   Delta: "Shut up shut up, you're OK. Just don't tell mom, OK?"

That Delta pilot really did not want to say that he hit another plane.

Yeah, there’s a problem with our wingtip.  There’s a 772 attached to it.

Delta 7 heavy, I’d like to declare a whoopsy.

Reminds me of my child telling me that “something happened” instead of saying that they broke something 😂

That damage is probably $100k per inch.

Get ready for a mountain of paperwork.

As a widebody captain your assumption is always that you’re going to hit something with your wing or main gear until proven otherwise.  I cringe at holding up traffic waiting for more clearance when I ‘probably’ had enough, but I don’t want to experience the alternative.

Man sounded like a Han Solo impersonator there.

"Delta 7 Heavy, why did you stop? Did something happen?"
"Uhhh everything's under control, situation normal, we're just checking some...stuff... in the cockpit."
"Did you hit that other plane?"
"Uh, there's a possibility of some stuff...but we're fine, we're all fine here, now, thank you... how are you?"
"I better send a tow."
"UH UH, NEGATIVE NEGATIVE, SUNLIGHT IN MY EYES, UNABLE"

well at least its not a hit and run

This is why as soon as I sit, I put on my seat belt. I also stay seated and buckled up until getting off the aircraft at the gate.

Ferrari, “We are checking,” type moment.

Yeah….. if I ever rear end another car I think I will just tell the police officer that I just have a problem with my front bumper 🤔

According to the LA Times The Air Canada flight was being towed to its gate, so it seems the Delta pilots were in a hurry.
Also the FAA made a statement: "Delta Air Lines Flight 7 was taxiing for departure when its left wingtip clipped the horizontal stabilizer of Air Canada Flight 785. The Air Canada flight was being towed when it stopped short of its gate."

For the record, Delta 7 was going to Tokyo and AC 785 had come from Toronto.

Delta to Air Canada: "best we can do is 5000 Biscoffs"

That's gonna be a meeting with no tea or biscuits (a British saying which might not carry internationally)

Nobody told Delta to contact Air Canada

There goes $2million
