My F150 has lifetime oil changes from the dealer. One time at the dealer, the service tech noticed I get my oil changed (for free) every 5,000 miles. He told me that newer vehicles can go longer between oil changes, like 10,000 miles. I told him I'll see him in 5,000 miles.

Solid information. Was a ford trained mechanic for 15years. Maintenance is key. We have been programmed that you don’t need to do anything. Big mistake.

Original owner of a dreaded 2009 5.4 3v Tritan here. 17 years of proper oil changes plus changing plugs twice and fuel injectors + coil packs once each over that time span has kept the motor running smooth and quiet as the day it rolled off the new car lot. Maintain your engine and it will take care of you.

I have owned at least 15 f150 and 250 trucks. Most through my business.. now that I’m retired I have a 2023 f150 super cab xlt with the 3.3 naturally aspirated v6. Mileage isn’t great but I love this motor and this truck. It will pull 7600 pnds. Way more than my needs. I started buying Fords in 1978. My son in law runs my business now. We still have an 85 f250. 250,000 and still runs great. Oil changes are the key. 3500 miles max and it will run forever.

I've sent this to my son he owns the F150 eco boost . He lives a state away and telephone calls aren't always easy. This is one if the best no bullsh*t videos to actually teach and help someone do it themselves without teaching them to much to get them into trouble.

Nice video. I just bought a new F-150 to use as a daily driver. Supplementing my F-250 Power Stroke. My first new vehicle. Concerned about how to break in the engine, I consulted the owner's manual. Found out that you are not supposed to tow anything until finish the break in which takes 1000 miles. So glad I still have my old truck until I can put the 1000 miles on my new one! New truck did come with 2 years of free maintenance, but I have always done my own fluids and brakes. I've seen too many forgotten caps, wrong oil, and loose filters.

my coyote on a 2014 gets its oil changed whenever the little light goes on... so far, nearly 150k miles in and zero problems. the a/c thingy behind the dashboard had to be replaced and that was expensive but other than that my little brownie is a dream. it tows a lot since its a farm truck.

I had an '04 F-250 6.0l diesel for the past 12 years, got out of the horse biz and recently purchased a '24 F-150. I have a lot to learn going from 2004 to 2024 tech! I learned so much in this 16 minutes video and you probably saved me thousands with the maintenance tips/recommendations. Subbed!

2016 2.7 eco with 155k, change my oil every 3,000-3,500 miles no matter what, run premium fuel as well and she runs like a dream

All of this is accurate. The problem is most owners are too cheap to do basic maintenance but cry when little issues become big issues due to neglect. Being cheap is usually more expensive in the long run.

2011 Gen I ecoboost with 170k miles. Bought it used with 129k. I've replaced plugs once but it has always run great besides that. I did have to have the updated exhaust manifolds plus new turbo coolant and oil lines. I suspect I'll need the walnut blasting job done as it runs rough at cold idle. Great info, thanks!
