If you want to improve your bass guitar lessons, here are 10 essential concepts I have identified after 26 years of teaching and 34 years of playing bass.

Many students get lost trying to memorise endless scales and licks. Instead, focusing on core principles provides a much stronger foundation for your musicianship.

Whether you are just starting out or refining your craft, prioritising these 10 areas will clarify your practice routine. We will look at how to balance technical proficiency with music theory, ensuring that your time on the instrument is spent building skills that actually matter for your long-term growth. Mastering these fundamentals is the fastest way to progress.
