I think Queen Maud's love of Photography came from her mother Queen Alexandra

Beautiful story about Queen Maud. She was beloved by Norwegians and still remembered for all she did for the Norwegian people.

We’re really really proud of our Royal Family. Queen Maud and King Haakon VII really became true Norwegians and their son Olav V is still known as the best king there ever was. He would bring his dog on the tram in Oslo to go skiing right outside. He was such a wonderful, down to earth person. He really was a great man. ❤

Queen Maud was certainly a fascinating figure. Her elegance was well known, but her role in Norway’s early royal history and public life is just as interesting.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I knew some of her story but this was very informative. In light of the passing of King Harald very timely.

Even if she was shy otherwise, she wasn’t on the dance floor. She loved to dance and could wear out several dance partners in one evening.

Yikes! Those corsets were too tight and displace a woman’s inside organs. Sorry but to me, the waist is TOO skinny.

Named Maud, as QMaud with out the french e 😂 - lovely to get to know her here, for the first time.
Ive never met any person named Maud as their first name yet.
And I wonder how she got the name.
