The new Hyundai Tucson is here — and this is a much bigger change than a simple facelift.
This is the fifth-generation Hyundai Tucson, with a completely redesigned exterior, a more upright and rugged look, a seriously upgraded interior and plenty of clever new features aimed at making it a better family SUV.

In this first look, I take you through everything you need to know about the new Hyundai Tucson, including the new design, interior, boot space, rear-seat space, technology, charging and the different powertrain options.

There will be petrol, hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions, with the new Tucson PHEV producing 292bhp and offering around 80km of electric driving range. There are also some interesting EV-inspired features, including high-power USB charging, stay mode and clever digital key technology.

I also look at some of the details you might otherwise miss — including the 83-degree-opening rear doors, adjustable rear bench, up to 695 litres of boot space, towing capacity of up to 1,900kg, the hidden rear wiper and Hyundai's clever new reverse-assist system.
And yes, there is an N Line version coming, which I'll be bringing you a closer look at very soon.

So, has Hyundai changed enough with the new Tucson to keep its huge customer base coming back?

Let me know what you think in the comments.
