Our tour guide was Mr. Jorge Luis Huaman Pumalloclla A+++ (we paid about $20 each plus tip at time of filming.)

How to get to Machu Picchu:
1. Fly into Lima, Peru
2. Fly from Lima, Peru to Cusco, Peru
3. Take Uber/taxi to bus station
4. Take bus then train to Aguas Calientes
5. Take bus from Aguas Calientes up to Machu Picchu
If you're planning a trip to Machu Picchu, but you feel completely overwhelmed with all the information out thereââor you just don't want to look up sh*tâ-and you just wish you had an easy video you could watch that explained everythingââwell don't worryââwe've already f#cked it all up ahead of time so you don't have to.
All the ways we messed up (I'll add to this list as I remember things:
Didn't buy Machu Picchu Tickets ahead of time
Tania idn't know where Machu Picchu was (despite my trending 2023 video I made)
Ran out of money and had to find an ATM
Chose the worst route possible at Machu Picchu
Took the night train back to Cusco

Update 2026-06-14: misty43810 photographed the "classic photo" on all three circuits, great post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Machupicchu/comments/1u42q5b/postcard_pictures_from_2a_3b_and_1b/
Quick review: There are 10 routes total, grouped into different families (the Circuits).
Timestamps:
00:29 â Circuit 1: (Routes 1-A, 1-B, 1-C, 1-D all offer this view.)
15:40 â Circuit 2: (Routes 2-A, 2-B)
This is the spot often marketed as the âclassic photo,â but thatâs just tourism marketing â the Inca didnât have a âclassic viewpoint.â
15:28, 22:18, 22:40 â Circuit 3: (Routes 3-A, 3-B, 3-C, 3-D.)
About Route 1-B:
Route 1-B is the main loop for all Circuit 1 routes. So if you buy something like 1-A, part of what youâre actually walking is 1-B.
Itâs also the route most often pushed on Salkantay trekkers because itâs usually the last to sell out. It doesnât go through the citadel, and it doesnât include any additional special destinations (like Inca Bridge) like the other Circuit 1 routes.
If you're curious about any specific route, let me know!
