Just drove up and saw a guy through the window watching a guy laughing at another guy on his knees at a Wendy’s. Never a dull moment in Toronto!!!

As a Columbus fan I am really happy with this trade. Marchenko is a great player but he didn’t want to be here and made it abundantly clear. The fact we got Knies plus a 2nd is great, as well as dumping Wood and Elvis. If there was winning a Marchenko trade I think this is the closest you get to it for the CBJ.

Wild scene at Wendy's tonight. Took me 15 minutes to get my ChaykaNator. 🤣

The segment where Knies could still be traded to Montreal hypothetical was diabolical 😂

I remember Adam saying on the podcast the Leafs needed a guy who was willing to be cold and decisive to make the team better. Looks like he got his wish. This is a win now move, and I’d argue they have to because if they can’t show significant improvement (i.e. any chance of actually winning a cup), Matthews isn’t staying. The Maple Leafs are finally acting like the Maple Leafs in terms of doing what they can to be the best team, and I very much respect it. Now if this doesn’t work… the Legacy of Failure is gonna have to add in a lot more chapters.

Gonna be a pretty sweet trade tree to look back on in a decade

And then I stopped myself. What in Hell was I doing at a Wendy's?

Ultimately it came down to Knies not being able to figure out how to play with Matthews. Marchenko can slot in anywhere in the top 6 and contribute immediately. Knies was going to start on the 3rd line for a decent chunk of games this year and that's just not good value for a guy like that.
