Good or bad that they’re losing all the TMNT licenses?

Im relieved that my wallet may get a break in the coming years

bit of a shame, competition makes the toys and collectables better in general, a monopolist will lean on its exclusivity to make people settle for less quality.

So basically Mattel has a monopoly on the IP now.  What a raw deal!

Dang Mattel. He-man, Barbie, TMNT, DC. They want those bags.

Mattel has mighty shoes to fill...I sincerely doubt they can out do what neca, super7, and mondo did. No shot.

Man, Joytoy?!
I lived their 1/18 line.

Mattel is going to have to convince a lot of collectors. I made the investment in the NECA stuff and really don't want to buy another round of 4 Turtles.  I'm sure many are in the same boat of running out of room and redundancy of Turtles.

guaranteed that all 3rd party companies are loosing their Ninja turtles license

On one hand, it is absolutly heartbreaking that all of these lines, most suprisingly Neca, will just come to a hault. On the other hand, I'm just so glad it was Mattel and not Hasbro. And knowing what Mattel is capable of, and especially seeing their recent MotU movie and DC stuff, I am honestly excited to see what they put out.

And I guess on a note people might consider cynical, TMNT figures are going to be way easier and faster to collect if only one guy owns the licence.

We will miss the playmates TMNT toys forever and ever.

Honestly what I loved about the original real world story of tmnt was that it was a real underdog story. From Peter and Kevin to Playmates taking a gamble and so on. Now it just feels corporate and soulless. It's not the franchise I fell in love with all those years ago. That being said I've enjoyed most of the stuff playmates have put out since viacom took over and a few that Neca and Super7 have put out. But I think personally I'm done. I brought a 2nd hand coil Force Turtle the other day and got more of a buzz getting a 90s vintage figure then anything that's been out new recently. I also work within the toy industry and  I gotta say times are really changing. Kids figures are very rarely for kids nowadays. Look at the Cgi Netflix Motu and how it flopped. (Personally I liked it.) Kids just don't play with figures like we did in the 80s and 90s.

Im thinking third party will jump on this opportunity big time

Damn we didn't even get the entire Archie line or even Archie turtles in their regular costumes.

Bummed about the Neca era ending. But at the same time I think I'm now in a good spot to mostly call it a day on buying modern TMNT figures. I've now got pretty much everything I could've ever hoped for, so I'm happy to just enjoy and appreciate the collection instead of wanting more.

I heard a rumor that Mattel is trying to to a TMNT Origins style line and that Varner Studios or Playmates is taking them to court about it because they own the designs or did the work for them and don't want Mattel using them. It's basically the creator created a comic character and should be paid for it.

I just hope Playmates gets the legal issue solved from being a co-creator of the figure brand and a majority of the character designs. I wanted more Classics reissues.

RIP Peter Cullen 🥺

I'm excited to see what Mattel has but it's sad to see other companies like playmates and neca done

If Mondo loses the license, that's pretty devastating. They were keep the 90's movie turtles alive in a fun new way. I always wanted that. NECA is sad, but realistically they already released just about everything we wanted (except giant Krang).
