I am 70 year old male, I used to watch these, I cant remember most of them Some how watching them again I started thinking the writers must have been smoking weed😅😅😅
If anyone watching this doesn't understand the rhyming signs ending with a "Burma Mud" sign, Burma Shave was the name of a shaving cream and starting in the '20s and going to about the mid-1960s they used to put 5 signs with rhymes on them along the highways. It would have one line per sign and the signs would be laid out in a row down the highway about 20 ft from each other. For ex, the first sign would say "On winding roads." The second would say "And steep inclines." The third would say "Please watch the roads." Then the punchline on the fourth would be "And not the signs." And the fifth sign would always say "Burma Shave."
The opening signs are a parody of the "Burma-Shave" signs that dotted the Midwestern roads from the 1920's through the 1960's- like this: "WITHIN THIS VALE OF TOIL AND SIN YOUR HEAD GROWS BALD BUT NOT YOUR CHIN Burma-Shave"
You have to listen carefully to these to catch all the nuances. When the narrator says he followed the good fairies instructions to a pea instead of tee as the instructions were to place a chickpea under the thimble.
