Hi Nick, this is Damien Buck in Florida. I trained under Shihan Tim Dudley for nearly 10 years. He taught this concept from the beginning and it was a critical part of every class. I personally believe that you cannot really learn this art without working with somebody at a very high level. It is a true shame that he is no longer teaching.
