🍗 In the 90s, Russian grocery store shelves were empty. Lines of 300 people for bread. Meat coupons. And then THEY appeared—enormous American chicken drumsticks at a ridiculous price.
They were called mutants, chemical waste, and waste from the American table. They said they were injected with growth hormones and antibiotics. That Americans didn't eat them themselves and were foisting them off on Russia.

The truth turned out to be more interesting than the myths. This was the most ordinary industrial chicken that Americans themselves ate. Americans simply preferred the white meat—the breast. And no one wanted the legs. Until hungry Russia appeared.
Thus, one ordinary chicken drumstick became the symbol of an entire era. And the protagonist of a veritable chicken war between two powers.
