How do I draw on metal using salt? I show the full process of creating a Japanese dragon on a knife.
In this video, I'll show the entire process of working on a knife. From preparing the metal and sketching to the finished design. To create the image, I use artistic electrochemical etching. I use salt, water, and electricity. With this method, I gradually create the design on the metal surface.
For this project, I decided to make a Japanese dragon. I work on every detail by hand and gradually build up the depth and volume of the design. It's a long and complex process. There's no laser or ready-made templates here. All the work is done by hand. In the video, you'll see the entire journey of creating the piece — from the first sketch to the final finishing and polishing of the knife.
If you enjoy handcrafted work, engraving, and unusual methods of metalworking, I hope you'll find this process interesting to watch.

In the closed format, there will be photos of my sketches, photos of working moments in the workshop, photos from life... Plans for like-minded supporters include: I'll be filming videos from the workshop, creating tools for creativity, small projects within the framework of my channel, and life outside of work. Thank you so much!
❗ Dear friends, if you decide to replicate my work, don't forget to follow safety precautions. Gloves, mask, goggles, good ventilation, etc. Even a small amount of electricity requires proper handling. Any chemical reactions — even salt with electricity — require precautions. Every metal has its own distinct properties and reactions to chemical processes — this must be understood and taken into account. It's important not to forget about safety precautions when working. Study and follow safety rules. Take care of yourself. What you see is just a flight of creative imagination, my hobby — not a guide to action. Thank you!
