As far as I remember, this was called Danger Island. It was an early 1990s TV pilot for a series that (very sadly) never got made. Most US TV pilots never get made into a series, so some really great shows slip unnoticed beneath the radar. Thanks to YouTube a lot of these lost films can now reach the huge audiences that they originally deserved. I think the later Lost TV series probably had its origins in this film, and there are obvious comparisons. But this is a very good movie as a stand alone show, and has good actors, decent script and a fine director. It is also hugely enjoyable.

Movie is great at holding your attention. It’s weird enough to be spooky. Strange enough to be adventurous. Mysteriously intriguing. I don’t know what is what or what’s going on.

This movie is way better than what Hollywood has regurgitated for the last couple of decades.

Skip the first 14 mins, group of plane crash survivors find a mystery island.
18 mins, we found water, and an old bucket and a water skin by the looks of it.
Wonderful to see June Lockhart, completely recognisable from Lost In Space.
