That Merkel is beautiful, good luck to whoever picks that up when you move it on. Thanks for showing them, looking forward to the other double.

One of my favourite guns is my Sauer 16x16x9.3x72R. Pretty gun, nice an light and very accurate.

Love it, such an underrated gun for pigs, I've only got a baikal double in 30-06 but for $600 she puts the left and right barrels an inch apart at 50m, i may upgrade someday far in the future

Thanks Ed, really interesting talk, I have read about the elephant hunting back in the 19th century and the preferred calibers. And there were some amazing & outrageous calibers back then. And the hunters preferred the double rifle. Cheers

Gotta love double rifles good video

Someone in Australia made a SxS 22lr out of a 410 Liege Poachers gun   a few years ago. I think it popped up on Usedguns a few years ago.

I've got a 410 liege poacher's gun...

You just made me like '06 more.😂

Didn’t know Gordon Ryan did gun reviews

that Sauer is a beautiful piece!

I love double rifles ever since I was a kid and I seen ghost in the darkness I've always wanted my own double rifle in one day when I graduated from high school my grandfather gifted me a classic 92 in 9.3x74r double rifle.I hunted a lot of black bears with it then later on in years I got much bigger double rifles ranging from 470 nitro all the way up to 700 nitro I prefer a side-by-side double over a over and under any day the only problem with owning giant double rifles is that they are expensive to feed they are hungry monsters

I have a 30-30 built on a 20 gauge shotgun frame, he also threw in the shotgun barrels and custom case .  $1200.00  back in 2010 .

I have 3 Double rifles (1) Pedersoli 50 cal sxs muzzle loader that shoots a 370gn Maxi parallel at all ranges inch or so either side of sights. (2) a Fausti O/U 45/70 that regulates with 300gn/350gn @ 1850fps parallel to at least 100m.This Rifle I changed the fixed safety to a selective safety from a Fausti shotgun. (3) a Brno 7x57R that I haven't shot yet. The 2 cartridge guns I put Leupold 2-7x32 scopes on in QD Mounts.

Nice vid mate. Haven’t got a double rifle, sbs double rifle are sexy as fhuck!

My mates Heym 9.3x74r has the same cocking action as that Markel, safe and practical.

Just hear to agree that ministry of sound '08 was peak!

100% MoS 08 is mint.

The nicest pointing double ive held was the fausti dea express in 45-70. Merkels are excellent and blaser BBF97 is better made but at a higher cost which i was prepared to pay due to the mounting system for scopes and red dots. Thanks for sharing  and keen to see how the fausti shoots.

Interesting chat.
Never thought about a double on pigs, apart from my trap gun which is, yeah nah.
Pointability and open sights? Practice boys, practice!

Great vid as always. Got an old Toz in 308/12G and I still love the old thing. I'm sorry though, the main thing I took away from this is that Ford Rangers are crap!! 🤣👍

Any double rifle is gonna have variation from rifle to rifle due to the soldering process. It has a lot of effect on barrel harmonics, it doesn't matter with a shotgun, but gets very noticeable at rifle ranges.
