Wore tweed as a young teenager in the 70s, girls said i dressed like an old man. Still wearing tweed and now i am an old man, girls say i look smart and  cool. It certainly  took them some  time to catch up.

Tweed is not outdated in the United kingdom. Sophistication of dress is their heritage along with fine furniture which America inherited.😊😊

Three fabulous jackets, all different, and each one beautifully styled. As you rightly pointed out, it is the colour combinations within the weave itself that offer the clues on the colours you can wear with it. As well as a necktie, I like wearing my tweed jackets with waistcoats in complementary colours, and by adding a double cuff shirt with antique cufflinks, the whole look can be elevated to an even higher level. Great fun! Lastly, I upgraded one of my older, less expensive, tweed jackets by adding elbow patches and swapping its plain plastic buttons for handmade leather ones. As well as adding interest, these changes have given the jacket a whole new lease of life.

Would love to eventually get a full tweed suit, have managed to find a couple of nice standalone blazers thrifting but so hard to find a full suit.

Tweed will always have a place in my wardrobe. I am finally going to start wearing mine with the cooler weather. My tweed goes with everything. I can put on a pair of nice trousers, a pair of nice not elegant shoes, and a new shirt, with my panama hat and packet square and look better then most man out there. Add a tie and accessories and I look good. And most (not all) ladies will notice. In my opinion it never will go out of style if you respect what it does and how it should be worn.  Great for cooler weather.

Most people in the US don’t wear tweed, particularly Harris Tweed. I love it though! It’s such a great fabric and perfect for winter. ❄️

I have a vintage Abraham Moon Shetland blazer and a modern Harris Tweed jacket (German-made, a sort of hybrid between a field jacket and a trucker). I style them with contemporary streetwear. First of all, I feel like people don’t even realise I’m wearing tweed - they just perceive it as a modern look. Secondly, tweed handles temperature changes way better, so I feel much more comfortable than I would in a "plastic bag" polyester jacket. Now I just need a proper Donegal to complete my collection!
