Major respect mate, I'm a bus driver at Stagecoach. I have been for 7 years now. A lot of the lads in my depot left to do what you do. I stayed because I love bus driving ! Safe driving fella great video

Whether you think night time driving is safe or not is up to you but about 20 plus years ago when the wife worked for the Highways Agency in the team that dealt with emergency repairs reported that they recorded the highest number of hgv driver fatalities whilst they were night driving.
I one month 30 drivers got killed whilst on the night shift.
I'm not saying what caused it but most of them were driving with the Cruise control set to maximum on the motorway.
I suspected that they drove to the motorway,  then set their Cruise control and,  , went to sleep. Forever.
I've done nights during the most dangerous hours, even through a couple of times when it was pitch black with no visible light at all except the 2 headlights on the road but forwarned is best so try not to use the Cruise control.

Is it the pallet networks policy to have your hazards on all the time?
If so it’s bloody stupid.
For instance when you wanted to spin but that truck blocked you if you were indicating left he would have stopped. Also how do you know when a truck is about to do a manoeuvre when everyone’s hazards are going off

It used to be easy.but now with all the road and juc closers at night its a joke

That would be my dream job.

I don't like doing night work. I did one for Pallet Line from Preston to Bilston. Started at 5.30, went to Fulwood, pick up more pallets, could be 5- 15 pallets. When i got to Bilston for 9pm, unloading in 10 minutes, park up, go to bed. Chap would knock you up at 3.30am,  load up & be back in yard at Preston by 6.30am, & go home.

Nights is easy
