I Went SOLO Bivvy Camping in an Abandoned Quarry

In this video, I travel to Parbold in Lancashire with my bivvy bag, some food and everything I need for a night of solo wild camping. After exploring the area, I end up at an abandoned quarry and decide to spend the night there.
From exploring the quarry and walking along the canal to cooking dinner, settling down in the bivvy and dealing with some unexpected wildlife during the night, this definitely wasn’t the quiet camping trip I expected.

My main advice for future reference is generally just to stay away from the cliff edges, and don't go too far off the established roads. There's loose rocks and unstable ground everywhere, which is why there's all those danger signs.
Aside from that though, old quarries are very rarely used for anything besides stockpiling for road repairs or things like that, so you'd be pretty unlucky to get caught by someone there. Those shipping containers do imply that quarry still has some usage but it's probably very minimal.
Also the deer were just making noises to alert others that you were there. Unless you see a massive stag coming towards you, there's no real threat of anything happening.
Great video as per, I was half expecting tentacles to come shooting out of that pond 😂
That was a class area to camp.
