good guide!

When you punch (you initiate attack) above the net, keep the pad face slightly closed.  When you counter (you react to opponent's speedup off bounce or punch off air), keep the pad face slightly open.

The reason is simple: when you attack, you are in both mental and physical control.  So, you want to maximize attach result by slightly close the pad face.  Your punch through will be leveled and controlled.  But when you are countering, you are reacting to your opponent's attack.  So, your mental and physical states are not stable enough.  Your body is jammed.  Your power output is relatively weak. You will need to keep the pad face slightly open to give you more margin to clear the net.

Exactly what I need. Youtube algorithms work like a charm

I'm so bad at this. Rather than hitting into the net I end up popping these up. I know all of these tips but have just had a really bad time executing them 😭

How do you get the ball/speedup to go down when your paddle face is open?

I find a lot of players try to use speed ups to body bag so I tend to lean back on speed ups because I think a lot of them are out and I want to give myself space to react and dodge, if necessary. How do I balance an aggressive counter-attack mindset with the ability to also leave out balls?

Good advice. thanks

Great tips, thanks for this

Great video.  I can't get my continental backhand to come over the ball in fast exchanges, and I hit it up too much.  Baffles me that my partner, who has a forehand grip, comes over the ball with ease.

Thunderpunch!

Best tips for fixing a counter ;)

For the first tip it doesn’t seem like your paddle face is open during the good examples. At the point of contact the paddle face is neutral or slightly downward.

Good video. great editing

Pickleball is lighter than tennis and heavier than table tennis .Therefore ,it gets more and more famous in the world now ,a kind of heat sport !

How did you know this is what I was drilling today? 😮

Jordan, have you been spying on me.  Time to drill!

Too much foot fault!

Wondering if the better shot is a backhand flick, if you hold the paddle away from body.
