Its always nice to watch Paul Antonio work

Amazing 🤩

Always lovely to learn from Paul. Love his rigour. Going to borrow the two pen strokes in the air for spacing words.

Very nice❤️awesome friend❤️beautiful👍👍...

When you said “there’s something magical when you see Latin in textura quadrata” I completely felt that statement haha it’s indescribable!

Wonderfull!! Thank you so much, Master Paul Antonio n_n

Really cool stuff, inspiring.

On a lot of historical exemplars the first two traces of letter M wher done in some roundness and in semi-quadrata. Then the botton finisth is done and after the other traces of the next leg are in quadrata; The first trace of the third leg is quadrata, them stoped and the end is done with semi-quadrata with kind of roundness at the joint of the two last traces, just like a more fluid quadrata and just like the first two traces but inverted. Same on n, r and other letters. I passed long time looking to notice this common detail. It let the letter more readeable besides its natural squeezing and noticing this made me read them much more easier.
I noticed that some letters are more rich in options from exemplar to exemplar like the letter a that assumes a lot of forms. Sometimes with two forms in the same document but not at the same text hierarchy. It like the executor, the writer had a extreme aesthetic sense and imposed it all allong the form choices he did at the document. The retouchings are too disting in a title and in a corrent text or a gloss. About the glosses: they normally uses even another font size and type, normally a batard or secretarian like. This kind of richness give some profound sense of hierarchy and organization that I normally do not see in morden typography that is on books. Sometimes is normal to see a word that is from another language written with another style or sometimes even parts with capitals that uses another color. The ritmun of colors of the capitals seens to have a strong meaning too.

I saw that the term Gothic is not right because some types born on French and English but got identified with Gothics with the use of 'germanic' people that stay with them while the rest of Europe was using other styles.

So beautiful writing !! 👌 I also practise gothic calligraphy (I mix Textura Quadrata and Old English) since nearly one year 🙂

The music with the writing is so relaxing i had to use a phone app to find the artist..."Gold among the Sand" by Trevor Kowalski.  Thank you Paul for all you do.

Stunningly beautiful!  Pax Vobiscum, Robert+

ive tried picking up blackletter to supplement my illustration a few times in the past but it just didnt work for me, since discovering parallel pens and your channel tho ive been at it the longest an most consistently than i have before! i think i might of even improved! thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and skill, im definetly beginning to see the rhythmic and meditative appeal of this writing style now! nice one

oh and i agree about working up to a nib, ive got a witch pen by that mitchel matey, honestly only got it cos its called a witch pen and thats dope but ive been having a go with it and i like it. dont own a quill but theres plenty of swans about where i live so who knows lol

❤❤

So very amazing from every perspective.  Mesmerizing.  I spend a lot of time with pens, paper, inks and therefore less with digital media. Where do I find the teachable site you speak of?

Thanks for this. Question: it looks to me like you're planting your wrist and writing from your fingers, or at most wrist. Aren't you against writing from the fingers? Am I misinterpreting your movements? Or is this script done from the wrist/fingers, and it's just Copperplate/Spencerian where the arm is used?

Q: What's the smallest nib you could use for Textualis Quadrata?
