Thank you for all the laughs, Barry. You are a one of a kind and irreplaceable. I'm heartbroken, but happy that we had you here for 89 years. 💚💚💚💚

I am a 73 year old Aussie. I remember clearly when pictures of Barry appeared on telegraph poles in Newcastle NSW, my home town, in 1962. They were advertising his first solo show A Nice Night’s Entertainment. Driving past these images my mother remarked “He is riske, and probably morally corrupt”. I quietly thought to my 12-year old self, “I want to see him, he sounds interesting”. I remember the 1950s in Australia from my childhood, and now appreciate the cultural insights that drove him. Dame Edna was the pillar of conservative society, God’s police, the Country Women’s Association local Presidents. You had to conform or you were socially rejected. It wasn’t until I bought, and read, his autobiographies that I realised how unique was his aspect and work on the Social History of Australia, and especially conservative Melbourne. His Les Patterson is an authentic portrayal of pompous males building careers in politics and club administration. It has devastated me to know that now we only have his YouTube videos, and DVDs of his two Barry McKenzie movies, to look back on. Go well, Sunny Sam, you will never be forgotten.

We missed you Dame Edna. Thanks there is Youtube.

THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO. I THINK HUMPHREY IS A COMEDY GENIUS. HIS HUMOR IS OVER THE TOP. HE IS AN AUSTRALIAN ICON CONGRATULATIONS. HAPPY HOLIDAY

A true genius

I’m stunned that a and e did barry

Really interesting to see and listen to his younger sister.  I think Sandy Stone is my favorite character, he brings a tear to my eye sometimes...  I reckon more than a few Australians would be happy to have those post War II parochial days gone by back now.

Australia’s John Walters, before John Walter’s, by 20 years😊 God I miss you Barry! For a young person growing up in Melbourne in the early 1970’s and being mischievous you set the benchmark. Will love you forever? Adam❤❤❤

Thanks for this, and I assumed so many wrongs. What an awesome life and journey of a wonderful man. xoxo

Thanks for uploading this.

Thank you SO MUCH for putting it on youtube... do you have Part 2 as well and could upload it here?

Where is Part 2?

Sad

🇧🇷 Sorry, you are mistaken, "Dame Edna Everage" is known in many non english speaker countries. Well, in Brazil, she is quite known. Barry Humphries is a genius. It is amazing how he created a character so unique and original as " Dame Edna Everage".Do USA citizens- or others english language speakers-  pronounce the initial letter " O" in the word " Opossum"? Because I only hear " possum"? If not, why? Why english language seems to be like a " lottery ": you NEVER know what is coming  ( in the pronunciation's case) untill it comes. It is crazy. Honestly, this language should be much more simple.  Why having letters in words if you will not use them? Pronounce them? Do you have or buy for you or your house things you don't use or are not necessary for you ? There is no reason to make a language that complicated. This is, with no doubts, a negative aspect. 🇧🇷

Sadly, Barry Humphries has passed tonight age 89.

Harry was so pc and less than bright, I’m shocked that he got it.

Actually Dame Enda is loved in the entire UK, NOT just England! I bet you meant the UK, but your another IGNORANT American who thinks the England = UK, WRONG, we are not all English in the UK, there is Scotland (which is not English)Wales (not English) and Northern Ireland (not English, heck NI isn't even part of GB, but it part of the UK!

You really forcing me to know  so many garbage people I never know or care who are they just to show you who you make famous people love when they don't know they are serial killers
