Everyone talks about models, chips, and scaling laws — but almost no one is talking about compute finance.

Gold miners used prepays and gold loans for decades: buyers prepaid cash, mines got built, repayment was in gold.

AI data centers are now doing the same thing — except repayment is in future compute. Long-dated compute offtake, compute-denominated loans, performance-equivalent substitution, even early forms of compute streaming and securitization.

There is no CME for compute yet — but there are bespoke “compute prepays” quietly underwriting multi-billion-dollar AI builds.

If compute is the new strategic bottleneck, shouldn’t we be asking:
• Does compute become a traded asset class like power?
• Who becomes the “merchant bank” of compute?
• What happens when compute prices collapse — or spike?

Feels like we’re at the gold-prepay stage of AI infrastructure, not the futures-market stage — and almost nobody is connecting those dots yet.

33:11 - So, Humanity is basically "cooked." If we think birthrate is plummeting now, wait til we have humanoid "companions" that can remove all the frustration of sit-on-the-couch husbands and nagging wives, in favor of a 100% compliant "companion," who knows everything about you, anticipates and infers your every need; and can execute the honey-do list, perfectly to spec. Or cook, clean, support you as a "shoulder to cry on" (with expert advice) and handle business in the bedroom.

54:15 - The introduction of humanoids into healthcare and, particularly HOME care is going to be one of the "killer apps" of this space, for sure.

A personal caregiver who has knowledge of every aspect of your condition, and how to care for it...doesn't get tired, doesn't get frustrated, maybe can display the face of a loved one s/he still recognizes, and even speak in their voice...it will be a TOTAL game changer for the positive.

I'd suggest you get clip on mics for interviews. YouTubers filming with iPhones & clip on mics have better audio.

Loving the way this is going. I can see this taking care of me in my 70s. It has not been that easy for my dad and mom(both fell). One almost went into coma. A humanoid could follow us and be 100% active so we dont at least fall + it will make the food we love to eat + help us with our exercise + keep the house clean + give us medication on time + do our groceries.
Panacea (just hope they dont strangle our neck at sometime ;))

The New Industrial Revolution framing clicked, but it’s not just factories. Most “labor” I see is coordination, like routing tickets through Pneumatic Workflow.

Thank you to the whole Moonshots-Team! For me humanoid robots are the universal layer for the physical world, similar to what LLMs are to the digital worlds (since language is the most universal denominator).

If there are any fellow Moonshot Mates from Munich, I would love to organize a "fan-community" and a physical meetup, to keep up the conversations of the pod in a nice café-setting. Talking about AI, Lobsters and robots!

I´m so glad that I can listen to "that´s a Moonshot" now two times a week. :-)
