The hardest part for me is being a southern cook and keeping a pantry stocked and eating healthy!

We live in a rural area and we fight mice. It is imperative that I stay on top of our pantry and what is there and how it is stored. Anything that contains rice or pasta etc. I have to store in totes or jars or something. Flour, sugar etc. we keep in food safe buckets. It is exhausting sometimes but it’s gotta be done. I recently had to do a little reorganization which turned into a big job because I dropped a jar of birria sauce and it busted and made a huge mess. I was not a happy camper. But it forced me to get even more serious about maintaining the whole thing. I found where mice had been nesting underneath the shelving 🤮 so now I am also at war!! Good job on your pantry!

When my kids moved out I said "take that food with you! Go through the food room (we actually have a "food room") and take what you  need to fill your cabinets! I bought it to feed that kid anyway, just take it. And BRING BACK MY JARS!
Now with the Govt shutdown, I have kids in the Military that may/may not get paid, food security is a problem. I have 3 grandkids that need to eat. Sometimes I just can stuff for fun so hey, come get it!

Ahhhh I was so excited to see a clean out and you skipped that part . That is the satisfying part of watching a clean out lol .

Thanks for filming this video. I avoided cleaning out my pantry for months! Now we cook better meals because we’re not overwhelmed by the pantry!  I’ve still been avoiding the freezers….

We went from 3 sons to just the two of us. I feel your pain! But keep going.

So real and so good, thank you! You are the inspiration I need to go through my cellar!!

Thank you for filming this. Now I know I'm not the only one with a bunch of expired food in her cabinet.

Ok, my head is swimming, mainly because of all the different places you shop to stock your food pantry, but if it works for you then don’t pay me no mind.
I grew up in a household of one bread winner, there was 6 kids. I was the oldest and I had 5 younger brothers. We all know how boys can put away the food. My mother did not drive so she made a weekly grocery list and my step-father did the grocery shopping at Kroger. It was not unusual for him to bring home boxes of cereal and 5-6 gallons of milk. I don’t recall a pantry cupboard, just those weekly trips to the grocery store.
I married a guy from Ky, he was also from a family of 6 children and his family always put out a huge garden. So we did too and I learned to can and freeze food from our garden. My mother-in-law was my teacher and a blessing. I have always had a pantry cupboard and have stocked up on not only our garden produce, but have taken advantage of sale items at the grocery. We have 2 daughters and  they actually prefer the foods I canned i.e. my spaghetti sauce. They didn’t like Ragu and Prego. I can totally understand your reasoning for stocking up. So many people only buy for today and don’t plan for a rainy day or  hard times.
I love your videos and all the great ways to save $ making your own grocery items. I’m a widow now, our daughters are grown women in their late 40’s and I only have a 13 year old grandson. But, plenty of your information can still apply and just this weekend I followed your video on freezing mashed potatoes.
Thank you and many blessings to you and your family. 🥰

I’m in the same boat with you …I seriously need to get into my food pantry and clear it out of the stuff that we no longer use and either donate it or throw it away due to being expired.   We have some space, but would like to make it a little bit bigger for more of my jars as I have been canning more now than I have in the past.

Amazon Fresh is a game changer. It’s cheaper than the grocery stores near me and it gets delivered to my door. I priced checked my recent grocery run and Amazon Fresh was $12.00 cheaper than the exact same things at my local grocery store. That’s just one small grocery trip need. It’s better for meat, milk, eggs, and even staples like laundry soap.

Good morning, Little Hill people!❤

Nice pantry makeover!  It looks so neat now and you can find what you want right away.  Good job. ❤

You brought us along, because we love a good purge and polish video!!!

Good job on the well spent 45 minutes! I do have more chickens, but when I clean out my pantry (smaller than yours) I get a bucket and make chicken slop. They go bananas for that too! Love that list!

Fantastic job!  Excellent organization!

Price Club!😅 We still call it that! ❤

You are such a hoot! It warms my heart!❤

We converted an unused bathroom for a pantry. Took all of the bathroom stuff out and ripped out all of the plumbing and cleaned it top to bottom. Then we added Home Depot shelving. It is one of the best things we’ve ever done to this place. Funny, I say “we” but it’s really my partner that did it all,  it was my idea lol and he carried it through to what I wanted.😂
My kitchen is very small and the new pantry holds all of the foods and the appliances I didn’t have room for. Yay! I didn’t have a Mom who did a pantry but I learned I needed one back in the 80s. I’m originally from Colorado and we had a Christmas Eve blizzard one year. We had planned on going out that day to the grocery store. We literally had nothing in the cabinets (I was young then). I vowed to never let that happen again. We walked through the blizzard a block, and honestly it’s so disorienting, I do not recommend that. Anyway, I wish we could’ve watched you do all that. It isn’t boring to me! ❤

You have motivated me to go through things and work on my pantry area. It is very disorganized so I definitely put it off.
