The Man with the Infectious Laughter

Ismail Yassin is one of the most famous Arab comedians in history. The actor benefited from his studies in Italian comedy during the 1940s, and his popularity soared to extraordinary heights in the 1950s before beginning its decline, eventually hitting rock bottom. This journey of rise and fall raises questions about the relationship between audience perception and artistic production, and how public sentiment shifts due to social changes or simply due to boredom and a desire for change.

This episode may seem like one about Ismail Yassin, but it's actually about laughter itself; how a situation can be funny one moment and then lose its power the next.
