Confession is an act of humility. The more we give to God the more we will receive. What do we receive? We receive the grace to directly combat the sin we are admitting to.

Reconciliation is a sacrament. It’s medicine, given to us by our field hospital, the Catholic Church

I like the connection with Nathan. Thank God for the sacrament of confession.

Excellent video on the topic of confession.  Thank you, JD, and God bless all who watch and appreciate this video.

You cannot baptize yourself - that's a very good point

The simple act of uttering your sins out loud to another human being is so therapeutic! I love going to confession!

Making an honest confession before a priest, that is one in which I state what Christ has already seen in my heart, almost always gives me strong feelings of joy and relief from my burdens.  I admit, it can be daunting to state my ugliest sins outloud, and what I perceive to be the motivations behind them, but humbling myself in this way is actually freeing and it reveals some fundamental traps (pride almost always being a root cause) which I can take actions to address.   Truly, the Sacrament of Confession is a gift, not a burden.

Why is it the First Gentleman spoke at length what he believed, but the moment the gentleman spoke in support of  confession to a Priest he was interrupted almost instantly by the First Gentleman and another man questing him before he could finish.  Just like in politics, some are allowed to talk but others are interrogated.

I've always viewed confession the same way as cleaning your home.  It's an act of love to yourself and those you share it with.  Good people do silly things, have flaws, are absent-minded when stressed/rushed/tired etc.... without being scrupolous, we need to simply do our best to maintain as we go a state of order in our hearts and our homes so that God can be present.  Confession is our first line of defense in spiritual warfare as well for this reason - the more progress we make in our faith, the more we are attacked with temptations or triggers... if you make it a point to go to confession as soon as possible every time you succumb to a particular temptation or sin you can't seem to shake (eg. being judgemental) you become more aware of your mind or inclination and then can make the effort to stop it before you sin - eventually you master it because you've obtained the grace from God to do so.  It's not just about "forgiveness" it's about getting close to God and I'm sorry,  priests are also far better at providing spiritual guidance and advice that support our spiritual growth than friends.

not to mention it is a powerful sacrament that need not be lessened by removing the priest, the vocalization of sins and the formality of the act.

Wow thank you for making these videos and this one particularly. It’s helping me in my reversion to my Catholic faith and how to answer my Protestant friends and especially my Protestant wife when they ask me why?

I thank God for this explanition using the scriptures to clarify to anyone who may be struggling with confession to a priest.

Lovely video with some great points of learning. Thank you my brother on Christ. May almighty God bless you and your family each and every day. 🙏✝️🙏

As a Catholic I love confession not really interested in what Protestant believe. So funny how interested Protestant are of Catholic beliefs. Keep being interested and you will come to know the one true faith.

Great video! thank you brother for speaking truth and helping others find their way back to the one, holy, Catholic and apostolic church. God bless you.
