bumped into him on a NYE , at the hilton in Donny a few years back. he was coming back from a night out with a young lady. as soon as i saw him i shouted 'rhinosaus' and he smiled and came over to talk. We were stood talking about boxing and life and whatnot for long enough for the young lady he was with to get bored and go upto the hotel room , them come down , saying 'Dave?Dave?' , for him to say 'I 'll just be a few minutes', she went back upto to room again , and the next time she came back down it was time for him to say goodnight. Proper friendly , loveable bloke and i hope i didnt stop him seeing new year in with a bang😂.

I don’t care what anyone says he is a proper fella! Wish him all the best!

Derek is a good lad, letting Dave have his moment

Such a weird career and path but seems like a top guy. I'd buy him a pint 😂

Bloke is a DOUBLE LEGEND! This resurgence is absolute gold ❤

I think everyone wishes they had Dave Allen as a mate he's just a proper sound bloke

Love dave. I interviewed him before he fought Jason Gavern and used to chat with him on boxing forums years ago. When a friend of mine went into a coma, Dave sent a video wishing him well. Just a top bloke.

I think his honesty, thoughtful nature and, rarely for a fighter, his vulnerability makes up for his flaws elsewhere.  Love the bloke, he's good for the sport and great for Donny!

Impossible not to love Dave. I honestly think he'll flatten Mukhmudov and then if there is any justice in this world he'll secure himself a career high pay day against a top level opponent. Go on big lad you got this.

Tough as nails, never been knocked down, it does make you wonder how far he could have gone if he'd really applied himself. Still going the distance in a fight after being out around the bars all day is something else!😂

Calling Dillian baby snatcher will never get old

“Walked away sounding like senior”. Spot on. 😂

Bloody hope he does it next week. Come on Dave

I absolutely love Dave. I remember being distraught after the Price fight. He got beaten badly that night, and it was upsetting to watch, but now this is a chance to show how good he really is, and I hope he flattens Makhmudov. There isn't a boxer that I want to win more than the Rhino, a diamond of a bloke, want him to make an absolute fortune before he calls it a day.

Its a shame you didnt meet him years ago propa he couldve stopped all them bad habits with FUM

You definitely wouldn't want a scrap with him outside a kebab shop..

Dave Allen deserves a movie.

What a lad he is can’t possibly dislike this kid.

Dunno why but he reminds me of Fred Flinstone
