Summer is here and the heat is setting us all ablaze. Sweltering temperatures across the world make us all want to run away to an island paradise for refuge, some nice tropical breeze and dips in the ocean water. When desis decide to run away from this heat, the closest option that comes to mind is Thailand. Tropical rainforests nestled on landmasses in the Indian ocean, with vibrant nightlife and breaking scenery, Thailand is a paradise dream come true. That is what Hannah Witheridge, David Miller and 11 other young people thought when they arrived on a Thai island called Koh Tao. This is the story of those 11 young people. This is the story of the ‘Death Island’.

The moment you described how Hannah was found, my heart skipped a beat. 4 innocent lives in that case, 2 of whom are living with their lives ruined, the two innocent souls after that, I hope all of them find peace wherever they are and the 2 burmese men proven to be innocent get justice. I feel so horrified even thinking about what Hannah must have gone through, poor poor girl :( couldn't even get justice in death, I hope she finds peace :(( and safety

I completely forgot Desi Crime had covered this story and ended up visiting Koh Tao without realising it was the same island. Once I was back from my trip, it hit me — this was the place. My experience was magical: beautiful beaches with crystal clear water, quiet night rides under the stars, hidden waterfalls, and stunning views. But I also saw the other side — tourists stumbling out of bar crawls, open drug use, and a sense of lawlessness from some visitors. It’s heartbreaking because Koh Tao is so beautiful, and you can feel completely safe if you’re aware of your surroundings. The island isn’t the danger — it’s the behaviour some bring to it. Seeing the island firsthand, I can say that if any city anywhere in the world were used the way some Western tourists use Koh Tao, it would inevitably lead to crossing paths with the wrong people and the darker side of that place.

It's absurd to think the developed countries like england and Aussie didn't take strict action against government to handling these case and there isn't an advisory given to their citizens

This investigation can give a solid competition to the botched one done in the Talvaar case.

I thought Indian police is shit but Thailand police is on another level.... Indian Police looks more competent.

I’m watching this while I’m on my 5th day of Thailand holiday

This is heartbreaking. Clearly, Twichian (and perhaps a few other accomplices) had a hand in all of these murders and he is living at large because of his influence. Shameful.

As someone who used to rescue and photograph reptiles back in the day, monitor lizards have a rough & coarse-feeling skin. They aren’t the least bit slimy.

What became more clear to me by the end is that the Koh Tao police were trying their best to cover up for these mishappenings, and they seemed to be more than pro in it. I won't even doubt if all these investigative F ups were intentional. Like no authority figure would be this incompetent and reckless shamelessly. Plus the police, always finding someone to put the entire blame on, only helped them get away with every mess they were creating in the investigation, leading to no justice. And also, they didn't care if they had to punish a random innocent person for the crime they didn't commit just to protect the actual criminal(s). In the end, it won't be impossible to see some more cases from that very location in the future.

The first clue of this case is that Montriwat Tuwichian sounds like a final-level mafia boss name.

This channel is so underrated that it hasn't find the correct audience yet 😮‍💨. The comments are so repetitive, and most of the time the comments dont focus on the case, Rather on how the host is presenting or how they look. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Guys, please upload the latest episode (20) of Chai and Chithi. I want to see Aryaan saying 'shake that' and Aishwarya's reaction afterwards

Why are people busy drooling over the hosts (save it for insta jeez) instead of discussing the case or talking about the lives of the victim. This is such a wrong trend in all Indian crime podcasts and doesn't cease to annoy me. When are we ever going to learn to show respect towards the victims of a crime instead of sensationalizing everything.
