I have not used my pastels in a long time, but watching you do this gorgeous painting has really inspired me to try them again! How much fun it watch you do this! Thank you so much!

This turned out wonderfully. So beautiful. This is why I love fall. The colors are so beautiful. I just can't do soft pastels. The rubbing them with your finger thing just makes my teeth hurt thinking about it. LOL I did send it to a friend who is interested in it though.

Love this painting. I find it so interesting to observe the colours you choose. Creates such depth and interest and makes for a really pretty painting. Still waiting for my supplies to arrive so I can start your pastel course! Thanks for a wonderful video Lindsay.

That peach. In the birch bark really brings it out. I wouldn’t even have seen that. Without your insight. Seriously. Learning lots. B’ginner in B’ville

I enjoyed your pastel paint a long today! I almost was able to finish but not quite. Always fun to do a project along side you- love it when you decide to do these! Thank you!

Watched replay in three sittings. Phenomenal!! Weird optical illusion when I resumed it reversed the depth, looked like an orange foreground with silver birch background, had to force my eyes to adjust. Wow you do inspire us. I love this. So many great tips. Thanks

When I watch artists like you block in colors, I realize how much I never learned by being a self-taught artist. I'm watching you do it and wondering how that first layer mess of splotches can ever amount to anything. It slowly turned into something beautiful. I hope I'm learning by watching because this process is a bit alien to me.

Frugal tip: kneaded erasures can be washed. A little soap and water clans them right up.
Also, a clay bar makes a fine fine fine erasure. They are expensive and typically used to detail automotive paint, but if they can remove embedded debris from a cars finish without a single scratch imagine what they will do for your artwork.
I know I comment often in each video. I do it because
A) I'm old and on medication. If I don't say what I think when I think it I'm likely to forget it
B) even though the media being used might not be for me I always learn something. I hope by commenting multiple times it raises comment count and makes YouTube want to share video with more people. Because even if I thought soft pastels weren't for me they are for someone else and they should be given the opportunity to see these great tutorials.
