My artist told me to leave my 2nd skin for 5 days

On saniderm or similar products, 24 hours is how long you should leave it on if it fills up with plasma and ink. If it's no longer leaking, you can leave it on for a few days. I usually recommend using the plastic until it stops leaking, I give the client 2 pre cut pieces. After, I recommend using Eucerin healing ointment (red cap) twice a day, washing the tattoo first each time. I ruined a tattoo over moisturizing it. Everytime it didn't have a layer of ointment on it I would reapply it. Over moisturizing is worse than doing nothing. It's a lot easier than people think to make your new tattoo heal so it doesn't look good, or to get it infected. Iowa requires tattoo artists to take a course offered at most community colleges about blood pathogens. Great video, very informative. Being prepared to get tattoo is also important. A lot of the quality can be influenced by the canvas you are working on. If I'm getting a tattoo, I'm moisturizing constantly in the days leading up, and staying hydrated so my skin is more elastic and easier to stretch. Trust me, it matters.

Sleeping is a big pain in the ass , because you can't control your body movements while you are at sleep

lol that plasma under the wrap is actually very good for the tattoo, hence why it's recommended to keep it on 3 to 5 days

I wash my new tattoo at least a minimum of 2 times a day and use healing ointment for only the first 3 days and then after that I continue washing it 2+ times a day and moisturise it instead of the healing ointment

What bout second skin? They normally have you leave it on for 3-5 days

I got my left arm done sleeved and kept it wrapped for about 4 days total and removed it and it was pretty much completely healed just had to wash it and keep it hydrated I’ve used saniderm about 5 different times the exact same way and it has helped so much more than regular air drying the old method

There was a girl at work who wouldn’t listen when I kept saying to her she needs to take the wrap off her tattoo as she was applying moisturiser and wrapping it back over. When the fine limes looked blurred I said I hate to say. I told you so

Taking your time in picking the art and artist is well worth it! Took me 2 years to find what I wanted and who to do it. It came out amazing. Me and the artist are both proud.

She put some sticker wrap on the tattoo and was told to keep it on for 7 days. This been a month already and I’m good to go! Listen to your artist.

I now have 59 tattoos. I have worked out an aftercare routine that works best for me working with my primary artists. Some of the conventional care methods have actually harmed my tattoos Saniderm is the best aftercare I have discovered and I use it every time unless the tattoo is in a high flexion area. It eliminates fear of infection and can be left on for 7 days during the most critical heading period. The bandage usually only needs to be changed once. When I take it off my tattoos heal completely much faster. Of course everyone should follow their tattooers advice, but if you have multiple artists that advice can differ and be confusing.

I scratched my tattoo during the healing process without thinking and now some of the color dulled and now i gotta go back to get it fix when it's done healing completely

I use Saniderm, which acts like a second skin layer. It's worked perfectly, and my tattoos are fine.

Not exactly sure about the cling wrap, that seems to be a by artist thing. Been told by one artist to keep it on overnight, one said keep it on a few hours after then rinse it off and one said remove right away, and all turned out great. From what I've heard from artists and a few other places, the plasma that leaks out right after can help with the healing process.

Everything else is spot on.

I have had my tattoos for more then forty years i never and any artists rape my tattoos. In my experience just leaving my tattoos to breath. Yes i agree keep it clean and moisturize.

Awesome channel dude. Just got some new American traditional ink yesterday and then found your channel. Although I’ve gotta say cleaning a new tattoo 3-5 times is very excessive. I clean my tattoos twice a day, morning and night, with dial gold liquid soap and they’ve healed perfectly. Just thought I’d share that with you 🤙🏼
