I have Gali 4i.... I made the walls much more steady, also drill a hole in the tweeter magnet pole so the sound goes back, the tweeter sounds much more relaxing with more control... but wish I could upgrade the filter

I have the Polk ES15's combined with a SVS 3000 micro.  Great combo!

The bucking magnet increases the field strength in the voice coil. Theres 5 Allen screws holding the elac xover board, it has two air core inductors. Interesting video thanks.

Polk tweeters look the same as the ones I used in my second DIY speakers 28 years ago.

It's just a tremendously good value in DIY these days and it's easier to know what you get. And it's fun. 😄

my old school pol audio sda-srs 2.3tl speakers with an upgraded crossover sound beyond amazing! Even before the upgrade/update, they sounded awesome!  Modern Polks arent bad but they are not in the same class as the og polks!

Do the elac db63 also, it's one of THE most popular speakers under 500 bucks.

Just  finished my upgrade on my Polk ES20 and let me tell you, I was blown away on the sound difference! Danny wasn't joking on how the sound would opened up, detailed  imaging was unbelievable and the bass was and solid! I converted from internal crossover to external system, although I had to buy more wire, tube connectors and hardware,  it was costly but at the end I did not regret spending the extra $$, hours of planning, trial and error. Just couldn't believe how much difference the the update made!!

Polk does a good job given the cost constraints they have to abide by.  Have seen this with their other speakers.

I like my ES20s just fine. I was waiting for this potential upgrade but he proves they're pretty darn good as-is. I'll have to think about it more.

I have the ES20's in my home theater setup.  I did run them as 2 channel in a bedroom system for a while.  They are decent but quite veiled sounding.  

Polk has always been one of my favorite budget brands.  They just seem to do a little bit more than most companies.  

If i were using these in a 2 channel system I would 100% get this upgrade!

I’m no audio engineer, but having 18 parts on a two-way speaker is borderline inexcusable
