Obviously the Emperor just wanted to chill with his sons, Malcador & Valdor and go on a galactic scale family roadtrip after he unified Humanity.

the plan after the Great Crusade was a Greater Crusade with the Primaris Marines, and after that the Greatest Crusade with the yet to be releases Secundus Marines

in theory had he been able to replace the warp with the webway he could have moved the psykers of humanity into the webway, the tyranids might have bypassed the galaxy, and probably advanced human tech to rival the necrons without needing to sell out to the c'tan

The tone of 40k has matured from edgy grimdark to classical tragedy. The characters all struggle against fates they have foreknowledge of but are unable to avoid. I think the Emperor was so adamant about not being a god, because he saw this fate coming and was desperate to avoid it. I think this situation was his worse case scenario, not something he schemed for.

What was his plan? Something something webway, something something throne, something something purge the orks, something something deal with the necrons, something something close the eye of terror, something something retire the space marines.

The speed of light is very very very slow for an empire stretching across a galaxy. 10 times that would still be too slow.

I think Jaghatai was designed/set up to be a traitor, but against all expectation was steadfastly loyal.
He was meant to be Ghengis Kahn IN SPAAAACE, obvious heel design, purposely set apart from all the others.

Emps and Malcador didn't count Jaghatai becoming his own person, despite how many improbable medieval Mongolian themes and aesthetics were "fated" into his life.

I think the webway project and golden throne was a unholy union of dark age, elder and necron tech, that would kill the chaos gods in their current form and reset the warp presay, but to do that he needed to tame and chill out the Galaxy, so when the chaos gods reformed they would wouldn't come back as their current twisted form because you can't truly kill concepts, and the webway would put on other safe guards for space travel not the main function

It's clear that big E favoured Dorn over Perturabo, but I actually think Perturabo was better suited to a post-war setting. As far as I know Dorn had no ambitions beyond building his fortifications and conquering in the name of the imperium, but Perturabo didn't want to be a warlord. He wanted to be an inventor and an architect. I think he should have been the favoured one and had so much more potential

My theory isn't that the emperor was planning for the hours heresy, but that once it happened he realized the only way forward was for him to become a warp entity. So he foresaw horus "killing" him and let it happen, let myths around the emperor begin and people to worship him so he gains a ton of power in the warp and can defeat the other chaos gods.

I dont think Angron was one he had picked to fall originally. If not for the butchers nail he had the ability of empathy and to take on the pain of others. I think after Big E realized he was stuck with the nails and he was dying that he just used him for what he could.

This video makes me ask a new question with the Emperor apparently waking up and becoming more active in the setting has he spent the last 10,000 years making a new plan and that is why he is more active now with his sons coming back or is he just fighting against the dying of the light for as long as possible

I have a little conspiracy: Chaos didn't call the Necrons 'Anathema', they didn't call the Tyranids 'Anathema'. That title is reserved for the Emperor and the Emperor alone. Why?

My hypothesis is that the Emperor's plan, if succeeded, wouldn't only deny Chaos, it would outright subjugate Chaos.

The Emperor alone was mighty enough to hold the Warp at bay, imagine a species full of Emperor-level individuals!

As for the armies of super-human giants, if the Emperor's plan succeed, the Space Marines and the Primarchs would be all rendered irrelevant.

The theory of the emperor planning for the Horus Heresy is one of the interesting one.
We know the warp is a reflection of reality, so if the emperor spread positivity, then the warp should also be positive.
But the Emperor hold the seat of the dark king in the warp, representing potential fifth Chaos God of ultimate ruin.
This is in line with how the great crusade function, bring ultimate ruin to everything that is non compliant, Most Xeno extinct, many human world exterminated, it representing itself.
And the Horus Heresy almost bring the Imperium into ruined.
Although, It may or may not have been the emperor intention, but maybe because of what he does, that he hold the authority of the Dark king.
Like how one has to perform ritual to ascend to daemon prince. The great crusade might be a ritual intentional or not.
