The lack of good AA was definitely my biggest complaint

This war done Made me stop playing, touch some grass, and get a job. I do logi irl now

I feel like a lot of people just got bored with the war. There's only so many time you push bob can get dehusked by 3 guys in a bomber before you decide to boot up a different game instead.

The medium boats are freaking great tho. Early war naval is fantastic fun.

You missed to mention that the Warden bombed all Colonial Air Fields ensuring Air Superiority and without the ability to launch Heavy Bomber Planes, ensuring victory for the Wardens.

DBD member here. This was my first war, and I was unfortunately I was only able to take part in the first half of the war due to life.
However, this has been some of the most memorable gaming I've experienced in my entire life. It's been an absolute pleasure and honor, my fellow soldiers.

My general thoughts on Airborne is that as a solo player there is not so much you can do about it or actual counterplay. I can shoot the tank coming at me with or sticky it even with naval i can find some way to try and do something, but with air i'm all out of options. I don't mean planes should be so flimsy that anyone can shoot them out the sky, but in a way anti-air should be feared.

Cant believe you didnt talk about siege of foxcatcher

Bombers are powerful indeed, but mostly because the anti air defense is not that good. There needs to be an effective counter to excessive use of airplanes to get a good risk/reward for them.

I was salty about King's Cage on day 1.  I built that town for the Wardens and defended it for hours until I had to leave for the evening.  I came back to my precious being green, yuck!

16:16 Correction: The Colonials did not push north into Vipers Pit. That lane was stuck on Marban Hollow for the entirety of the war.

I played solo on Charlie. First time back since 2017. I had A LOT of fun building my own facility. I made a foolishly ambitious goal to create an SPG solo. A couple days ago (took me almost 3 weeks), I finally got all of the materials and transported them deeper into Colonial territory where an abandoned regiment's Large Assembly was. Wardens had started losing the war noticeably, and Charlie's population has dropped off a cliff, and so I was glad to accomplish my goal and begin printing the SPG. A couple people helped me transport the materials faster to the site, I started printing the SPG and logged out for dinner and a movie. 2 hours later, I logged in and it was already destroyed. Paratroopers dropped in and killed it and a few low tier vehicles nearby.

This really stung, not because it took so long to gather/craft the resources, or that I thought it would live, but because it felt petty by our enemies. The Wardens were/are losing so handedly, with not many people online, and yet they mobilized a group and went a few hexes deep to kill what was obviously not a real threat to their war effort. So many regiment bases with meaningful resources, an airfield right up the road, not to mention two hexes of real threats closer to their front line, but, instead, like a group of rogues ganking a low level, they dropped on my little crafting SPG. It feels like I got griefed, even though it is a war and a legitimate action because I just do not see the logic in coming for my printing SPG, given the circumstances (I think the lowbie getting ganked is a good metaphor). I hope this makes sense to anyone who reads this. I feel very mixed on Foxhole after this experience. I was going to print the SPG once I had the resources regardless of the state of the war, and had it been a closer fight when I attempted to print it, I would have embraced the suck, but, this.. this just felt mean.. Them reaching it and killing it while losing was only possible with this airborne update, while lacking ai AA, too. Just takes 1 plane without enough people online. So thanks for that, I guess..

I know there’s been a lot of controversy in this war, I don’t know if that’s normal in Foxhole or something special about this one, but what I can say is that I’ve enjoyed it like a kid.

I spent the first week as a solo player, and then I joined a regiment (BRG49). From not even knowing how to change seats in a vehicle at the start of the war, I moved on to driving several BTs, a Stain, multiple fighters, and becoming part of the crew of one of the bombers that opened the coast of Endless Shore for the Warden Navy (the push in 20:10).

The only problem I had in the game was with the Stain. My regiment leader sent me to go get it from the Halberd factory and bring it to our base. The thing is, halfway there I ran into some guys who thought I was a thief who had stolen the Stain, and there was an argument with them demanding that I had to get out of the Stain insulting me, blocking my way, etc.

The head of my regiment even had to come and tell them to leave me alone. At the time, it annoyed me quite a bit, but looking at it from my current perspective, I find it kind of funny, and in a way I understand them. I mean, who expects to see an lcpl driving a Stain all by himself in the middle of nowhere? I mean, this is a conflict that could perfectly well have happened in a real war, so more immersion for me, I guess...

It’s been a long time since I’ve had this kind of awesome experience in a video game, and it’s all thanks to this fantastic community.

Thank you so much guys

And Instructor, no, I still haven’t forgotten about you. o7

Ignis got involved and made calahans pass their home base

The hot fix will help a lot this war, but I hope the "BIG CHANGES" are AI aa guns, and more AA options for infantry, like a AA tank that protects the gunner or even a more AA heavy boat that sacrifices ship vs ship combat in to a mor ship vs air combat that can actually impact a battle

You missed how a "quick, '15 min max' para OP" turned into the Warden takeover of The Fingers.

11:03 I was also there as an 82nd member. Honestly the best run airfield in the war, and not surprised if others try and replicate it

Robert forcing me to relive the trauma Marban Hallow gave me during the massive Warden counterattack

AA/bombing definitely needs a balance that makes it fun and easy to fly in a bomber crew, but also makes it require a large fleet to actually damage back lines.

Hi, I'm from UA regiment. We, together with the coalition, held the defense of Deadlands throughout the war. Honestly, in my two years of playing foxhole, I have never felt such disappointment as in this update. In my opinion, the balance of the planes is very bad, on the airborne devstream the developers said that the planes would be skill based and tactical but in reality quantity wins in 90% of cases.
The further the war went the more problems there were. AA that we have now in game is a 20mm useless emg and flak which is literally gambling because there is no guarantee hit no matter how you aim. We definitely need AI AA. For example, Salt Farms had a huge defense lines, but it died to several bomber runs within 2 days because we dont have enough pop in asia time zone and we didnt have a chance against 5 bombers. For now bomber is a toxic low pop pve vehicle that can do 2/3 of rsc damage in one run without heat and in range of 3 hexes :D and for operating it needs 2 people. The point when collies lost was when all runways was dead. We defended ourselves as best we could, but it was pointless because bombers will destroy everything in low pop hours. Maybe i dont understand something, but at this moment game has turned into rust type shit where you need to be online 24/7 or lost everything. Personally, I dont get the same fun from this gameplay and many good players that I know for a long time have abandoned the game.
I will not speak about an absurd "asymmetrical balance" that killed collie navy and gave warden tank players a new phobia, because it would take a long time. The paratroopers are good but need collision fixes and a less flight distance, because landing in basin sionnach when the front is in Deadlands is a crazy shit. The new boats are great, probably the only thing I liked in update, but warden siege one need a buff/rework its kinda cringe.

Trenchline was not to advance, it was to lag out planes
