Yeah, none of that’s true, but your textbook said it with its whole chest. History class was basically a group project between national pride and lazy editing, and we all got graded on the wrong answers. Turns out a lot of what you memorized was propaganda with extra homework, served cold and covered in chalk dust.

There's also Sibil Luddington's contribution in the Paul Revere story, even if it's disputed. I'm from Virginia, so the First Thanksgiving story totally skipping over Jamestown here and Roanoke (the Lost Colony) nearby in NC, really rankles - all because of wanting to leave anything Southern out of important events in American History at that time. Of course, that totally leaves out non-English, like the Spanish in St. Augustine and the Dutch in New Amsterdam/New York. St. Augustine was a full century before the Pilgrims, but they get all the press for some reason... boo... and then of course there's the Vikings and Indigenous as well. There's even theories about the Chinese, Africans, and Irish getting to the Americas in the 1200 - 1400's. History is not dead! It's continuing to evolve as we learn more and more. Think critically, dig in, and do your own research! Thanks for this! :)

I'm from Argentina (Messi's land for those who don't know) and I was taught in my school that we "won" the 'Guerra de las Islas Malvinas' (war of the Falkland islands) and never heard of the name Falkland, it was always, Malvinas.... so imagine how confused I was as a teenager almost finishing high school when I learnt on the internet we not only "lost" the war but the islands still belongs today to England and that we claim every year on an international court to have it back and never succeed on it. Imagine my disappointment. I mean, I know in my school wanted us to be patriots or nacionalists about it but they should've clarified to us about what we think is right and what the world outside see... (that they're not ours no matter how unfair that is).

Europeans bright over illnesses that the natives didn't have any immunity for, right?

Did the native population have any illnesses that the Europeans couldn't fight off?
I get not having an immunity to certain diseases since they had never been exposed to them but did it ever happen in reverse?

1:00 Columbus did land in Central America on his fourth and final voyage. So he did land in North America. He explored along the coast of South America and realized it was a continent.
He never thought he landed in India(Asia) only islands off the coast of such
