A good mechanic with good teaching and camera skills, a rare find. It makes me think that I should be very picky in selecting the shop for doing such job. After a "reputable" transmission shop rebuilt my car transmission and re-assembled it back, I got leaky CV shafts gaskets, wires routed wrong, and a loud noise when shifting in reverse. After I watched this video, I am thinking that there are not too many mechanics following the service manual procedures and correct bolts torque
Just blew my Pajero's head gasket last week and contemplated replacing the motor, but came across this video. Now I will simply buy a new head and install it myself. Thanks for a great video.
Great video just taking on a job similar to this next week you took of the timing chain tensioner all together yes? Just reading about it, does this have to be reset or something before putting back in?
I just inherited/bought a Pajero with high Ks on it and will need some work. Its a good engine but for someone with a lot of experience writing on European diesel cars and heavy vehicles over the last 30 years the Japanese things are real dogs to work on. They're great when they work but when they don't they are a nightmare. For me it would be easier to just pull the engine to work on it for the big jobs. I recently worked on a ssangyong actyon sports 2L diesel and it was so easy.. is very European in design. But the Mitsubishi is not. I used to work on Land cruisers and hilux regularly as well and they are the biggest buckets of crap you can get ..
How much would a job like this cost to do , I think my shogun has head issues it keeps dumping the coolant into the expansion tank , had a sniff test done but that came back negative
I look at my 4m40t. The manual just say torque all to 108nm.loose up and torque all to 108nm and done. I found it a bit wierd. But now I'm more confused. As I find all kind of spec. What is the master work manual. Only one spec are 100% correct
