Finally, a video where gravity actually cooperates with the humans instead of obliterating their porch! YouTube algorithm brought me to the good side today.

It is the winter-equivalent to mowing a large lawn in the summer. The melting snow will not allow the roof to support all that weight.
And then there is shoveling it all away, once the removed snow hits the driveways, sidewalks, etc.
And then it all melts and the summer amazes you that it was ever there, in the first place.

I don't live in a snow area, so watching this is fascinating!😅

Most of these are models of what happened in Nepal.

It is hard work clearing snow from roofs, driveways, and stairs. This is back-breaking work.
I am fascinated by the different types of tools people need to invest in.

Well, at the 5,000 foot level on the western slopes of the Rockies, we had nothing like this in our winter months. Whew... However, this is the 18th of May, and the hills around us have snow still on them. When does winter actually leave us, eh?

1980s I vived in Valdez AK for one winter. Had well over 300 " of snow. I had just walked inside a steel truck repair building when the snow on the roof came down hard. The impact blew the large door used for entering 18 wheel trucks blew immedately inside the shop. So much power that snowfall had. Scared the life out of me almost. Memories.

Aussie here (northern part) so a conversation I will never have in my lifetime 'Honey go remove the snow off the roof'.....but it kinda looks like fun.
