Thank you for your video. It’s nice and direct. Did the paper you used expand very much? It looked fiddly picking the paper up to place it on the cloth. I’m sure you tried all kinds of ways of doing this. I’m wondering why you painted glue on the paper over the towel instead of painting the glue directly on the paper on the flat surface and would it be possible to roll up the fabric on a dowel then place it over the glued surface and then Breyer the fabric down? Just curious. If you have already tried this you may have saved me some time.

Thank you for this. The guys make this seem so complicated, I like your approach, although I do have a couple of glass shelves, so the cloth can dry flat. I just got some muslin to strain the paste and I have a couple of boxes of fabric to play with. So wish me luck, or maybe skill!

Vlieseline Vliesofix is sold at Spotlight for NZ$10-$25/m depending on how wide you want it. I've just tested it with a quilt fabric scrap and some printer paper. Seems to work just fine.

It's intended for applique in sewing and is usually behind the cutting counter.

I just iron on medium or light weight fusible interfacing—it’s so quick; no mess; cheap; I can do A LOT of fabric in an afternoon, and…no bugs, no hassle; nice, even coverage.

I would like to see a video of you trying to pull the backing paper away from the material to test the strength. Ive tried so many times to do this and every time im able to pull the backing paper off quite easily. Its so frustrating! I feel like if I can pull it off easily then over time it is bound to de laminate. Thank you.

I'm loving this way of making book cloth. For ironing them, what heat, if any, would you use? And would it mess with the wheat pasted tissue paper?

Excellent video. I will have to admit, being both a bread baker as well as hobbyist binder, once I mix flour & water together, I do have an urge to add salt & yeast.
What I find interesting is that I find more hobbyist channels outside the US...whether this is concerned with book binding, sewing, dinghy sailing, what have you...my question is...what is wrong with us Yanques?
I will check out some of your back catalog.
