I’m not a annuity person, but you can always buy a no load or low load annuity and with Some annuities, you can accept a little less income per month so when you die, what’s left can go to your heirs or the estate just saying😊

annuity's are an insurance product. Large insurance companies will sell you an annuity telling you they are safe and you are even insured against any loses. The problem is they all insure each other. One insurance company will sell another insurance company a policy to cover them and you from loses. The problem is the other company has sold your insurance company the same kind of insurance plan to protect their policy holders, Its just a big circle and a house of cards. In Any systemic crash where more than a few Insurance companies are in trouble the whole thing comes crashing to the ground and your annuity becomes worthless and the insurance non existent. You lose everything....

I love the free harbor wide light show on the buildings that they do outside your window. I like being at the edge of the water along the railing, watching cute kids and nice families and couples holding hands. Hong Kong is a Fabulous city. And it has a giant buddha on top of a mountain at the end of the cable tram. I cannot afford HK but some can. No annuities for me as I'm unwilling to lose the principal, its for my kid or future X.

Ugh...my 86yo mother has 4 annuities. So if I'm the sole heir, do I get those annuities transferred to me? Luckily I spent years investing and retired 2 months ago but it would be nice to know I have some extra cash in the future from these annuities.

These annuities can be a useful tool as a longevity hedge and an alternative to regular bonds for a retiree with lower risk tolerance seeking some fixed income exposure instead of being in pure equities. One of the few times I disagree with you here 😔

Annuities are low or no interest loans to life insurance companies. For real. I analyzed several annuity structures Fees cap rates inflation adjustment ltc riders fia variable. Just dont. Spia you get your money invested back at about your statistical life expectancy for me about 83-86. After that some house money. Other varieties pay attention to the fact that they can change the cap rate or other terms unilaterally
