This music kills me. There are tears running down my face. I close my eyes and I’m 8 years old again. I grew up without a dad and my mom wasn’t always there for me. So video games always kept me company. Now I have a wife and 9 year old son. I put him to bed to this and I hold on to him tight. Dad will always be here to protect you.

My grandfather died in March of 1995 and I remember borrowing this game from a neighbor shortly after he passed. When I heard this song it kinda messed me up and I wasn't expecting that. My grandfather was quiet and reflective. . .I had my NES or Genesis plugged into his TV (a gray older Zenith) at his apartment a few units away. He NEVER complained to sitting and watching me play video games especially since my grandmother had passed a year before I was born. So anytime I hear this song I remember him. RIP to Martin R. Garcia 1915-1995, the best example of always remaining calm and composed no matter the situation.

Close my eyes. And imagine being in my room playing this till I heard my mom calling out. Miss my mom.

I close my eyes and remember playing this alongside my siblings and hoping to get every banana. Here’s to us being kids in the 90s without a worry in the world. We might be 40yrs+ but we’re still kids at heart. Never forget.

The intro to this song invokes such a deep feeling of nostalgia. The excitement of reaching this stage in my youth, and the feelings of mystery and wonder that followed. Like anything was possible and new surprises of many kinds awaited; some wonderful, some frightening, or some could be something like this... dreamy ambient masterpiece.

Anyone else get filled with this sense of profound sadness when listening to this song? It always takes me back to my childhood and I can’t help but miss how great those times were.

It makes me want to cry listening to this song, time goes by, how many years ago I played this game with my friends. Reminds me that we're leaving, I didn't want to.

Born in 80. I got to live through the tech evolution from Atari all the way through now and I miss those days sooo much. The simplicity of the analog world when most people had a moral compass and life was a mix of new tech and old school sweat and discipline. We just had to figure crap out. No freebees, entitlements, or dumbphones. At least that's how I remember it. It's easy to remember the good things. Anyone out there relate to this?
