I recently had my beloved coffee mug broken from the brim after it flipped inside the sink while I was washing it my inlaws told me to throw it away and get a new one. I got a new one but I still couldn't stop thinking about my old coffee mug, I decided to glue up the pieces together and repair it, my inlaws told me it is makruh to use a chipped or broken mug even if I repair it, but I still went on and glued everything together and it looked just as fine as it looked ever before, I started using my old mug again and got the same disgust look from my inlaws for using the chipped mug. They thought I am cheap but I am not, I just have a strong attachment to my mug that even the brand new mug could not replace my feelings for that.

Now, science says that anything that is broken, cracked or chipped, emits a cancerous chemical. Either Cadmium or lead, depending on the type of material used to create it. Aside from that there can be bacteria trapped in those cracks that standard washing cannot eliminate. You'd have to wash and sterilize them before you use them for eating or drinking. The best option is to replace them.

Also, if you wash and continue to drink from something that’s chipped, you are more likely to consume fragments of the glass/ceramic material, which can cause severe damage to the stomach and esophagus, etc. potentially causing internal bleeding. So for safety sake, it’s best not to use once a visible chip is noticed.

my landlord's wife used to give us food in chipped plate few times i told their maid kindly throw this away it's chipped and can be harmful, how i know the plate was chipped I felt the sharp edge when holding it while washing it I realized I was close to get cut. even after telling that to them she still sent food in it after that I stopped opening the door to them when they bring food now they never send anything

As-salamu alaykom wa rahma'tullah wa barakatuh, dipping the finger in the drinking vessel is a trick sometimes used by partially sighted people or blind people, it helps them to not 'over fil' the cup.etc.

Kefiir in some languages and кефир in Russian. Like all fermented foods it has 0. alcohol. They usually don’t even show it on a package.
I believe it is buttermilch in German. I saw it being sold in Makkah.

Id rather put it back together. It looks beautiful once u fix it again. And also its not chipped anymore cause u fixed it. And also u dont waste a perfectly good usable cup that way
