Guys nobody from non priority has got into gp training in this January 2026 cycle. Number is 0 but no one wants to tell truth to other imgs because PLAB is big source of income for UK economy. I myself wrote MSRA this year and got 553 but still no offer even in GP training. My friends who got more than 600 and are IMGs also couldn’t get any training offer.
USMLE is much better because people are getting training. Around 46% IMGs got into training in the US this year. I am regretting myself investing this much money and time into PLAB and MSRA exams.
No one ever speaks for IMGs but you all should know the truth although it’s way too harsh. So it’s your decision in the end but if one can avoid they shouldn’t start with PLAB pathway. Right now is the worst time to do so.

Good effort by the uk government
But there should be a time frame of 5 yr before amending this bill
Otherwise it’s just biggest medical scam done by NHS by pocketing all the img doctors money
I hope When uk doctors go on strike ,the img doctors should go tour there own country & never return back & must do it unannounced like the nhs government

I do not think we ever lived in times with less clarity and the ability to plan than this. There are so many problems that led to this bill. Lack of jobs, ACPs, PAs, AI and Palantir..etc all issues that are plaguing the NHS, yet there is somehow a way to make it worse?

It’s a bit cheeky, they will depend heavily on IMGs to run majority of NHS, yet when it comes to training , they draw the line

Hi Doc! Thanks for your very clear and professional explanation. I was wondering if you or anybody else could answer one question: in Italy, after specialty training, you can actually apply for jobs in some other specialties that are considered similar to the one you trained for. For example, a newly specialized GP could apply to work as a cardiologist (with some penalties of course). Is it also true for UK?

Thanks for information. Just to clarify-how many years NHS experience is needed if UK citizen but not UK graduate and has NHS experience? Also is this only NHS experience as a doctor or other medical specialists also count(eg rasiologist technician, physiologist or nurse before starting as a doctor)? Thanks

Now people with uk nationality also included in priority group even if they did mbbs outside uk

Delighted to hear that the country is prioritising it's graduates.
I wonder could Dr Ollie or anyone else give me some info...I see some people saying they are doing BSc Hons Medical Science to go to graduate entry medicine and then I see others saying that they are doing BSc Clinical science to go to graduate entry medicine, so I guess I'm wondering what the difference in medical science and clinical science is and which would be more akin to medicine?

As a British IMG, I don’t have a problem with UK graduates being prioritised for training positions, but I don’t understand why us British IMGs are not a priority group (after the UK graduates).
