Dickinson is undoubtedly one of the most prominent poets of all time .Thanks Sir for this wonderful rendition .It evokes a strong feeling inside me :there's no point worrying about the vicissitudes of life because somewhere Death is lurking around and it's just a matter of time that the inevitable would happen.

Here in this poem, Emily Dickinson echoes about the inevitability of death and the concept of afterlife through a scene where she is in carriage with death and immortality, conversing with them,  passing the few places representing the important stages of life, describes the fear of being on the cusp of life's end and the hope for the eternal life 🙌🏻

I love the title of this beautiful poem

Love you sir and the simplicty with which you unfolded such a great piece of writing!!!

Nice

She’s describing her time after dying. Then how time changed. How centuries now last but a day. To surmise the horses direction, is at the start of the carriage ride. But she puts that line last.

I couldn't stop for death.....

Dear Teacher,  Thank you so much. glad to have your next lesson about poem.

@iswearenglish

Dear Sir,

Let me bow to this magical poet as well as to your ever so amazingly portraying their thoughts filigree and languishing.
It takes one's breath away.
Wagner would gladly have called your symbiosis a gesamtkunstwerk (in times of tribulation).
One of my favourite book  is "Kein Ort. Nirgends", by Christa Wolf, a fictive vision, portraying  von Günderrode's and von Kleist's languor of (living and) dying.

The thing is, at the and of the day we all might languor for love and forgiveness, we are ever so human, aren't we?

And Arbitrator Time will once consent, as William or Baremboim might have it.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.. have my exams tomorrow.. this really helped.. thanks one again\

Bravo !!!

Definitely wasn't able to catch the three stages of life thing with the children stanza. Thanks.

I think what she is saying here is that life is very short and before we realize we're at the end of it.

Very nice , thanks for explanation, i like dicknison, i find her enigmatique woman, and the poem is so enigmatique, but we can explain it anyway, good
